PC Specialist - any good?

  • We've had two PC's from them at work and no problems with either. Mine was the first and it's run fine for just over a year.

We used to build our own or buy Dells, but there's little saving on building yourself nowadays and Dell aren't as competitive as they used to be.

    Terrible experience regarding my repair!
The new keyboard would arrive in 1 week.. we are 4 weeks later and there is still no new keyboard. My laptop is now in repair for over 2,5 months!!

And now it is even impossible to login because the website is broken.

    This is unacceptable!

UPDATE: Now they say "We have been in communication with our suppliers in an attempt to source a replacement Belgian Keyboard for your laptop. Unfortunately, there is no ETA for the KB at present & there is no sign of this changing I am afraid to say.

If you wish, we can switch the keyboard to a UK keyboard & have this changed and sent to you as soon as possible?"

After all those weeks waiting, are you being serious?

I want to add this horrible little story:

When I bought the laptop they told me that it was delivered at my address. Well I didn't see any postman or carrier at my door.. so what happened? the laptop arrived at totally different address. You know not even my neighbour but some random person in a totally different city accepted the package. !!!!!!?? Ofcourse pcspecialist had to verify this, which took weeks.. and then this laptop had to be returned first to pcspecialist before they would sent out my laptop. By that time I wasn't even living in the same country anymore. Can you imagine? And now this happened. I'm so done with them.

Well looks like an old thread that's been dragged up.

As it happens, I bought my laptop from them in 2011. I also bought the gold standard warranty. The laptop was perfect but around 2013 starting developing issues with not powering on. Sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't. Contacted PCS who arranged a courier to pick up the laptop, kept it for about a week, and returned it. They couldn't replicate the fault either but the laptop's been fine since.

Would have been better off on the praise, vents and warnings board.

Call them, its the best way, the number is on their website.

Call them and be RIPPED OFF by 0844 numbers, NO THANKS!

I would NEVER deal with any company who uses 0844, instead of an 03 number, to me it shows complete disdain to their customers.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I will never use or recommend them because to me it shows the attitude to customer services is below my expectations. The other comments here seem to reflect that.
Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !

Please look at the date of posts you are quoting before going off on a completely unfounded rant, as things have changed in the intervening four years.

    Sigh.

  • Since it's been brought back up - I've had 2 mid range PCs built by PCS in 2009 and 2012, each for roughly £700 and never had an issue. When I upgraded a few bits on the 2012 machine their CS helped me through the choices and was really helpful.

I would recommend them and will be using them again in a month for my 3rd machine.
