Employing an Assistant Church Minister

Can any one advise if when looking for an Assistant Church Minister we need by law to advertise or can we headhunt?
Thanks for any replies.

There is no law that requires anyone to advertise a job it would depend on your churches policy if there is one.

Why not open up and advertise, you may find a better fit.

I have 23 staff, only one has come from a. job advert, it's not illegal to employ someone via word of mouth.

Our success rate has been better by recommendation than by advert, when it comes to finding staff.

Check Canon Law. There may be requirements.

Or the appropriate guidance for whichever kind of church this is for. If there is any. If it's a completely independent enterprise there may not be any.
