Hi all having been a browser since 2007 finally time to start this mortgage free journey! i know i know why didn't i start much sooner.

mortgage 1 £61000 3.99% svr currently paying £443.00 per month overpaying £200.00 per month

mortgage 2 £84000 2.74% svr tracking base rate paying per month £710.00

any help support guidance welcome, feels really good just starting this thread just need to stay focused and keep my eyes on the prize:D

    current official end date of mortgage= 2037-aiming for 2030. mortgage balance start of challenge- 25/11/2016 £245,695 mortgage balance 01/04/24 - £133,477.09. 2024 challenge- get mortgage balance to £115,000 by xmas eve 2024, and a years outgoings in premium bonds again
    Make £13,968.47 in overpayments in 2024,save £15,000 for water system

    Don't suppose #2 is £83,999 is it ;).
    A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • mortgage 1 £60197.89 next over payment will see me rip through the £60000 barrier feeling good;). easy to keep tabs on mortgage 1 as its with the Halifax which have online facility unlike mortgage 2:(.

    Really keeping me focused this money saving lark and all you mfw.

    See if you can eek out a little saving from somewhere in the budget. You've started the ball rolling and every little bit will accelerate you towards the goal.
