  • Hi

The address for Manchester is correct as of last weekend! However, I have received a letter which is apparently from the RBS PPI Concerns Team in London advising that I have paid PPI (I have kidney disease which was diagnosed when I was 8 so I never get the additional insurance as the liklihood of it being paid out is near zero... but my branch didn't know anything about the letter or that there was a team in London :-/

When I spoke to my branch they advised to write to the Manchester address..

Now that I know I paid PPI I will be writing to them to get back what I can! :) :j

Ive had the same experience and was wondering if you'd had any joy or further correspondence from them?
  • I received a letter from Natwest customer concerns team in London over the weekend notifying me that I have paid for ppi on my loans since 2006. I was a bit concerned as the address on the letter isn't the address quoted on Natwests website so I contacted natwest directly
On the number on the website and can confirm that this is genuine correspondence from Natwest/RBS!!

Rather than me having to send all the forms back I made my complaint over the telephone and should hear the outcome in the next 8 weeks!!

Looks like natwest are slowly contacting all customers that they have screwed over, and are compensating!! Looking forward to the outcome now!!
  • Good morning :)

Sorry for not replying sooner... I was a little slow sending my PPI letter to RBS, due to a number of reasons, but yesterday I received my response...

...'the Bank is prepared to uphold your complaint and to offer you the following redress.

    Totalling £367.31

I was quite happy with that and without any of my paperwork I'm not sure what I actually paid in PPI... However the letter continues with a declaration and acceptance...

'I wish to accept the Bank's goodwill offer of £367.31, in full and final settlement of all or any claims which I might have...' :T

Does this suggest that it may not be the full amount I paid? Should I just accept the amount?

Just to confirm I had 1 loan of £6,000 which I paid over 3 years 2 months before I paid the remainder in full. I also had a credit card with them. I have never and will never take out protection insurance as I have kidney disease.

    Thanks :)

Most are goodwill offers. The amount is in auto payout territory. So, that could be why.

Your refund would be the premium paid minus the rebate on early repayment plus interest.

  • Garfield - how long did they take to make you an offer?
  • Thanks Dunstonh, so I should take the money and draw a line under it?

Tanya - I sent the template from this site on 9th, received an acknowledgement letter dated 23rd August on 30th August and the outcome letter dated the same day 23rd August on 2nd September so no time at all really.

I'm not sure if the decision has been swayed by the fact that the bank once tried process a life insurance request for me and retrieved medical records, the outcome was an extremely high premium. If they have this information on file then they would know that my request was genuine. :)
