  • ho ho - my DS had a passport as a kid so doesn't need an interview - but if he then he doesn't have a doctor / back account or a clue about the car registration- which of the 3 is the family car anyway? As for who countersigned the form well it is bound to be a doctor if mum has been sorting it cos all her friends are doctors.

what a load of twaddle -

She just smiled and signed it all off! Wot a farce, but he got it so I'm not complaining! Think its more to see if u seem to be the person u say u r.

    Don't worry bout it. U'll b fine

We are going away in less than 8 weeks and I've only just discovered that they now interview 16 year olds!

Perhaps I should have sorted the passports earlier but in the past I've always had them back in a week (even when there was all the delays with the kids coming off parents passports etc).

Anyway, are we likely to get the passport in time? My son had a childs passport which ran out in April but this will be his first adult passport.

Does the process really take the full 6 weeks?

    I'm still trying.

Am I the only person left in this country who doesn't even use text speak in text messages?!

Text speak should be kept for texts and they should use english on this forum.

Text speak is one of the reasons kids have poor spelling.

You should always get your passport before you book any holiday.

At this time of year applications have previously risen at people get ready for their holidays. So if they say 6 weeks you should allow 6 weeks, if you get it in 4 its a bonus.

I had my passport interview 2 weeks ago and being hopeless with numbers I couldn't remember any birth dates fully and as I do not pay the bills (hubby does) I didn't know of any joint credit details and also had one of those senior moments forgetting my driving instructors surname, it came to me a few minutes later (I have worked with him for 2 years and he taught myself and 3 of my daughters to drive!)hahaha. I recieved my passport 2 days later!
I was simply honest and explained I knew the month but not the year or day of my Dad's birthday and she asked "Do you know if it is the beginnin, middle or end of the month"!
Tell him not to worry my interview lasted 20 mins but my 19 year old daughter's lasted 10
