I live in Glasgow's West End, I was born in the Queen Mother's hospital, which I can see from my kitchen window. I've travelled all over the world and lived in New York, Sydney, Lisbon, Toronto and London and I can honestly say Glasgow beats them all hands down (with the possible exception of it's weather).
There a thousands of things to do in Glasgow, it's a fantastic place to live, work, play and visit.

This is really just a small list of the things you can see and do. Make sure you take a ride on the clockwork orange (Glasgow's subway) it's the 3rd oldest subway system in the world after London and Budapest.
You can find more to see and do at http://www.seeglasgow.com/ and http://wikitravel.org/en/Glasgow and http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow0 -
I have just noticed your letter about Glasgow. If you are still going there, do go to the Art Galleries, its in Kelvingrove. Absolutley fantastic....and it's free entry. And there is always Barrowland, if you like second hand markets. Glasgow would never be the same without the Barrows. There is also a mussel cafe there that has freshly cooked mussels. Try taking a tourist bus trip from St.George's Square, that is really interesting.
Hope you have a great time. CAth:j0
