yep , low tech mag. is a great site all round .

    over here's Sunny Slough .
    3.68kW limited inverter, 18x240W schuco panels , sma 4000TL ( 2.4kW 35deg, 1.92kW 15deg) SE

Our system has same size inverter (3.68kW) but just the single array of SE oriented panels (20*185W) at 45deg. Interesting that we had almost identical outputs yesterday. Probably coincidence though as we are over 100miles apart.

Here was our output graph yesterday. You can see the kink at about 4pm when the panels are no longer in direct sunlight. Our panels are unshaded (except by the roofline later in the day) so all the deviations from the nice bell curve are clouds. Also this is the first time we've squeezed a drop of power out after 6pm:

    19mar.png

The y-axis is kWh generated per 15min period, so multiple by 4 to give average power output per period (ie just under 3.2kW at peak). For 6 hours yesterday (8am-2pm) the panels were averaging over 2kW, and 8hrs over 1kW (7am-3pm). The inverter started up between 0615-0630 and shutdown between 1815-1830. Sunrise here was at 0615 and sunset 1822.

Pretty good here in Manchester. Today's total was 12.7kWh.
PVGIS projected for March is 262kWh and up to now I've done 198.26kWh so 76% of the target achieved.

Pretty rubbish today - continuous cloud, no breaks (despite even the 10 a.m animated cloud TV forecast showing there would be) so only 3.2kWh from 2.28kWp system.

At 53% of PVGIS for month (80kWh generated/152kWh target) with 10 days remaining.. ho hum

I can't imagine I'm the only one who is behind target, seeing as this March has been particularly cloudy even (or especially) when we've had high pressure?

Great first week in Cardiff, but since then dropped right off. Norwegian Met office site (don't ask) is showing great weather for the last week of March. But I've noticed that most weather sites have been very 'questionable' over the last 6 months. I usually find that they predict good weather till it gets to tomorrow, then it changes to cloud or rain.

Got a 14 yesterday, highest since 1/9/11. Will still make Mch target if the forecasted sunshine arrives.

Hope you do make that target :)
It's becoming a habit now for me to check the weather when I wake up and then my monitor when I get in from work.
Addictive doesn't quite do it justice!

In complete contrast, I beat my previous record of 17.77kWh on 5 March by 0.8kWh today. However, that record was more than 10 times the previous day's output, so maybe you'll get a record tomorrow as well.

Sorry to hear that, Seagull; I guess mid-Wales is going to be a fair bit cloudier if it is to produce England's water!
Lighter cloud than you over here 'til about noon, then virtually unbroken sunshine with a faint haze for the entire afternoon. 14.00kWh achieved.

Been a strange day in Cardiff. Looked a bit poor, with lots of white 'haze' but still generated 2kW for several hours. Finished (almost) at 9kWh, but my ESE panels are still pulling 120Watts now. Good on em!

I'm glad I called it the Jokecast.

Pretty misty here all morning but a bit of glare lighting up the mist was enough to switch system on at 06:20 - albeit at only 36 watts. Picked up to 500w by 8am and 1kw by 10:15 but it was 11am before mist finally cleared and delivered >2kw till 2:30ish. Still generating now but only 200w. Grand total for day 14.4kwh (so far). Managed a free load of washing 11am-1pm & cooked lunch when w/m heating cycle ended.

All three forecasts that I check (Metcheck, Met Office & BBC) agree that tomorrow will be cloudy & dull so am expecting record output.:j

It's been a pretty good day in and around Manchester. 17.8kWh from my 4kWp system. Still generating at 120W as I type.

Meanwhile over on the east coast of Lincs we were forecast mist and fog which fortunately never materialized so instead sun all day gave me an amazing 22.3kwh generated.
    Sorry Welshies ;)
