Hi There - another week gone by so quickly. This one was BIG for me. I did the facilitating job that I agreed to cover for my friend and it went well. It was a big step for me and the first time I've been paid anything near that daily rate. Strangely enough it now feels that it's my daily rate (I certainly felt that I'd earned my money!) So a big shift in mindset in terms of what I believe I can do & what I'm worth. Next week looks pretty busy as one of the organisations that refers to me has linked up with another programme & has referred 6 clients to me! I thought December was going to be quiet!

I'd love to know how everyone is doing. x

    Hiya

So pleased to read that things are going so well for you - it must be due to all your good planning in the first place.

It's great to see that the work is starting to 'snowball' for you and you'll have to be careful that you don't take on too much.

Hope you have a good week and be sure to take some time off over Chrissy to re-charge the batteries and have some 'me-time'.

    Happy Crimble

Thanks so much Lynne Merry Christmas to you too :) :xmastree:

Last week was busy work-wise plus I managed to squeeze in a few social events which was nice but by the time it got to the weekend I was shattered. A few people asked to reschedule their sessions on Friday which would normally have concerned me but to be honest I was relieved to be able to relax in the evening! (Note for next year - don't believe people when they say they want a session on the Fri eve before Christmas :rotfl:)

So this weekend was my first "normal" weekend in ages - I'd done virtually no preparation for Christmas so made an effort to get to the shops which was a big old waste of time so practically everyone is getting vouchers or money this year. I got a £100 M&S voucher for switching banks which has helped a lot - bought giftcards with it - 3 people ticked off the list :)

I've got a quiet couple of weeks work wise - only 3 clients this week & 2 next so looking forward to a couple of weeks to relax & do some thinking, planning, reading and reflecting. My Christmases are generally very low key so there will be only a few social events to attend. Thanks to that facilitating job I've already earned enough this month that I can relax and enjoy the break rather than feel that I have to do something.

Merry Christmas to you all - I would love to hear how everyone is doing :xmastree::xmastree:

I hope you have all had enjoyable Christmases. Mine was really lovely - super-relaxing. My Son spent the day with his Dad who provided traditional Christmas lunch so when DS got back to me in the evening we just chilled, watched Netflix & ate Chocolate Ice Cream log !!! Marvellous!! I'd had my Christmas lunch cooked & delivered by one of my pro-bono clients as a thank you (she's a Cook) - I specifically requested Melazane Parmagiana - It's my absolute favourite meal so this was a real treat for me. :T

Unsurprisingly this week has mostly been Christmas related - Family time and relaxing. in terms of work it's been quiet - although all 3 of my clients last week made their sessions and I booked a job facilitating a Team building day in early Feb at my new "proper" daily rate.

I am very grateful for the head space that this quiet period is giving me. My Son is at his Dad's for a couple of days this coming week and I have earmarked that time for visioning, planning & reviewing. I feel really excited about it - I love the perspective that this particular week in the year brings.

I hope that you are all getting to spend this time exactly as you want to

The melanzane dish is one of my favourites as well. I sometimes make it and add courgettes if I have some - yummy.

It's great that your clients made their appointments last week, and the Feb job sounds interesting (and lucrative) as well ;)

I love this time of the year as well. Looking back and remembering the good (and not so good) bits of the year. Looking forward and planning to have more good than not, in so far as we can organise it.

I do hope that your plans come to fruition and you can continue to build a firm foundation for your fledgling business during 2016.

Hi Lynnejk thanks for your good wishes - best wishes to you & yours for the New Year.

I had a very restful time over the Holidays - I didn't manage to do the planning that I'd intended. I'd underestimated how much downtime I needed - naps featured highly in last two weeks.

We also had a bit of a health scare (another one!) My teenage son had a weird blood blister come up on his lip a couple of months ago - it didn't go away as expected - we went to the GP just before Christmas to have it checked & expected them to say don't worry it will go but they sent us for tests - first of all with an expert in the practice then to the hospital. It turned out to be benign & it was removed on NYE - huge relief!! We managed to contain the anxiety but it was there in the background all over the holidays which contributed to the tiredness I think. Feeling very, very grateful for the NHS :T :heartpuls

I managed to get my accounts done (did them myself for my first year of trading as the amounts were so small while I was working part-time - will get an accountant now I'm doing this full time) & set up systems to keep me on track for next year. Also finally managed to get my application in for Accreditation - I'd had everything I needed to get it in since the beginning of December but it took me a full month to get my act together to submit the application :o.

Writing this has made me realise how overly optimistic I was about what I was going to achieve in the two weeks (laughably so :rotfl:) - this is a habit of mine. I also underestimated the importance of rest and downtime - but my body sorted that one out for me by napping. I feel in much better shape to start the New Year for having rested. I'm also so pleased not to be going back to the job that had started to get me down so much...

Happy 2016 to everyone - . Please post to say "Hi" - I'd love to know how you are doing too. :)
