Will take porridge again tomorrow to work. I had frozen some raspberry coulis we made into ice cubes so I added one of those, some ground almonds and half a banana to the porridge. It was delicious, so will follow suit tomorrow :D

I have whole almonds every day with my porridge. I can't believe how well they go together. When my stepson suggested it I almost didn't try it as I didn't think I would like it.

Oooh those porridge ideas sound delicious!

If we leave the kitchen door unlocked (we have a latch at head height, we didn't even have a kitchen door BC (before cats:rotfl:)) anything is fair game - the boys are experts at opening the door. Once made a batch of fresh madeleines, disappeared upstairs for a bit and came down to them strewn all over the floor and a nearly demolished one. **Cats CANNOT be trusted!** :D

I like porridge with slices of apples and cinnamon :)

Cats cannot be trusted when food is involved, and they eat the most surprising things... I think I was most surprised to find my cat tucking into a curry that I found too spicy (although I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice levels, probably was nothing to the cat!).

Confession time- we completely disregarded the budget last night and went out to eat!!! £38 later and bellies full we came home.

There's no excuses really, girlfriend was tired from getting back from working away for a few days and said we've not gone out just the two of us at home for agggges so thought 'why not?'

Back to trying to stick to the budget now!!

In other news I have a day off today so having a cuppa then off to feed a friends kitties (she's on holiday this week so I'm feeding/snuggling duties!) then back home to commence the bangle!

Friend is also coming round to help us install the home security kit and for a few hints like lights etc, which we think we know how to do but he's a fab hand at so is happy to supervise us and help :D

Sounds like a nice meal out, just the two of you, if just what you guys needed. I get where GF is coming from, it's hard when you both work away so much. Glad you had a good time.

Is it the kitty sitting that inspired you guys to get kittens? It sounds like good practice for when you get yours... not too long now :)

    Much more frugal day yesterday!

Silver bangle is made and I'm really pleased with it- took 7 attempts to get the solder to flow which is mighty annoying (you have to put it in pickle and scrub it each time it fails to 'clean' the silver again) but the join isn't visible! Made a little tiny jump ring too for the charm and it's all ready to go into the polisher :)

Went to mum & dads for dinner and mum made her breaded tilapia which is divine- tilapia fillets coated on the top only with breadcrumbs, onions, coriander, chilli, pepper, lemon juice, salt & pepper then baked :p

Friend came over and helped with loads of DIY- back gardens now mowed, hooks up in bathroom, drawer in a wardrobe (IKEA sent the wrong one initially!) however the home security kit we bought isn't suitable....it said wireless which I assumed meant no wires.....nope it would have wires trailing all over our walls :( will return it to John Lewis) and start re looking for something more suitable.

Gf has a couple interested in renting the flat at lower rental than normal; think she's going to go for it otherwise it's costing her £690 a month plus council tax whilst it's empty.
We really need to get rid of that flat so will start looking again next month at selling it (it's on interest only so she's not getting any benefit at all!!)

Charley- no, we've been discussing kittens ever since we put down the reservation on the house (Jan 2016), when we moved in we said April as hopefully we'd be settled in with most of the big expenses gone. Then we could calculate if we could afford them (which we can!!)
I kitty sit for this friend and a friends mum quite regularly as they know I adore cats and will give them love & attention, not just feed and empty litter trays :)

Productive morning so far- thanks to inspiration from other mfw's I stopped being lazy and listed the four pairs of shoes that I photo'd on the 12th March (bad me for taking so long to list, good me for finally getting it done!)

I then photo'd four more pairs and got those listed too, so 8 pairs of shoes and trainers going live tomorrow evening!

I've also signed up to BzzAgent and completed the profile so will check in on there regularly (alongside onepoll, Yougov, prolific & free postcode lottery!)

Now on my second coffee and off to check survey sites! (I have also done some housework too so not just been sat on my bottom!) :D
