A composter left out with a note to take. Brand new £22. I think that has to win wombles womble of the year award?

    I am so happy!

In August due to the Southern Rail Strike I had a horrendous journey which involved close to 3 hours of additional travel time.

I put in a complaint to Southern Rail and this week they sent me the full £57.50 return fair cost in Vouchers.

This coincided with my email alert that I had set up telling me that the advance tickets sales are now released for my OH and my's journey to my family this Christmas.

So this afternoon we went to the station and bought the tickets for our Christmas journey which cost us just £4.25 each as the we used the vouchers.

So I know I've wombled £57.50, but actually it feels like more because the tickets were the same price as on the train line's website, but because we bought them at the station we saved £1.50 on the booking fee as well.

And I had budgeted-and was expecting to pay-around £50 for a return journey per person this Christmas.

I am claiming a womble of £59 and I was so happy walking away from the station that I kept high fiving my OH.

Well done for fighting your corner and getting the money back too.:T

  • I stumbled across this thread yesterday and was so excited!

I've sort of been wombling solo since April. I have been working hard since January to pay off my debt (Exactly 14 days until I can click send on my final CC payment, woop woop:T). However in April, I began to struggle with my slightly tight budget and feel a tiny bit "forever skint" style deprived.

To combat this I set up a spread in my Bullet Journal to track any incoming money or value so I could see how much money there was around and feel more abundant. I began to log when I got value for something without paying and also searching the ground for roadkill (I didn't call it that though) and picking up scratchcards just in case etc.

So far this month (I can't go back further as I don't have my old Journal to hand) I have amassed £100.69.

All this and I have been shamelessly chucking away my supermarket receipts and not pricematching. Fool! I had a go at collecting a few this morning as I walked past. Found 10 and not a bean on any of them but I'm definitely gung ho for trying new ways of adding to my womble total.

    So... Can I play? :o

:rotfl: well you do now you've got your new pants!

    Welcome giggleyay

I've got a 50p roadkill to report - delighted with that! DH came home with another car air freshener and five glass cleaning cloths, which may sound rather random, but I've had to start wearing goggles for reading, so they'll be useful. I'll claim £2 for that small bundle.

Double-bubble chickens = 24 eggs over the last two days (£2.40), so £4.90 in total.

Nice wombles Florence and Bob. Got compost bin envy now...

Wombled 2 x 20p off a wall at school, I think the caretaker sits there! So I gave them to DS 3 & 4 as they had good reports at parents' evening.

  • Thanks Foxholes and Dizzy. :D

I realised I hadn't included a pretty big womble in my total yesterday. I think it is one anyway. I got 12 free weeks at a slimming club, adding £59.50 to my total (Joining fee £10 + 12 weeks of fees£49.50)

Plus today £1.46 on Qmee :)

    Total for October now £161.65.
