Ok, I've read this several times and think I've got the hang of it now so will be starting next month!

I've got myself all organised ready for 1st April with envelopes for each weeks groceries cash. I got what is actually a mini clear plastic photo book with 10 sleeves that i have slipped a wages size envelope into each one and marked as weeks 1-5 with a final one for stocking up. I've then got myself a cheap clear plastic pencil case which will then be the "third purse" for when I buy items from my shop.

My plan tomorrow is to clear one of the bookcases that stores loads of carp in my understairs cupboard. Luckily the cupboard is huge and is accessed from my kitchen so will use the bookcase that I clear for my shop stock. I even found some little labels in a drawer earlier which I'm going to use to price my store items based on their usual retail value.

I think that's pretty much me then organised ready to go!

I'm going to start quite big with a £25 per month second purse and I imagine I'll be stocking up on household items for the first couple months as I have a baby on the way and think things like shower gel, toothpaste, loo paper will be more useful to stock up on then food items to start with. Don't get me wrong if there are good non perishable food deals then I'll still get them but household will be priority for me.

I'm so sad and already looking forward to 1st April when I can start!

If I've missed anything or there's anything else I need to do to prepare, feel free to point me in the right direction!

Thank you for the inspiration to try this!

    Thank you for the welcome!

Think I've already noticed something I was going to do wrong!....

3rd purse is for when I've reached a set amount in my 2nd purse isn't it? Not to put money into when I buy something from my shop? So if I have £25 in my 2nd purse and buy say a bottle of shower gel for £1 from my shop, I'll then have £26 in my 2nd purse, not £25 in 2nd and £1 in 3rd?

Well there are different ways of doing it...probably two distinct ways that come to mind:
option a) pay "profit" to the 3rd purse and cost to the 2nd purse, 3rd purse grows quicker but you've less 2nd purse to play with

option b) pay "profit" + cost to 2nd purse, then spill over into 3rd purse when you exceed a set target this way your 3rd purse grows slower, your 2nd purse grows quicker

I do option b, a few people like jakes-mum do option a, you do whichever feels best for you :)

Thanks, it suits my ocd as it's all hidden away :D

Mr T order for my SP arrived 30mins late...but it came with a lovely surprise :D cburys mini rolls were 2 for £2 I ordered 6 thinking "that'll do for a month" (one a day you see), then there was the £1 off when you spend £3 thing.... so that made them £5 aka 13.8p a roll. Well they've arrived and there's 10 in a pack :D I feel like it's easter already haha, that makes them 8.3p a roll yippee... When I checked the website they're normally about 20p a roll. I know making cake is cheaper, but I wanted something that'll last, so 8p a roll is yippee in my book.

    Welcome to you,
I have only been SP for a few weeks , but it seems like I have for ever. I have alot of stock and it is so good just to go to the cupboard and get something when I have run out.
The best thing though is making alot of very good friends which are always here for each other.
Roll on 1st April, you will enjoy it.:)
