Money abroad

My question is about transferring money to Spain. I travel there regularly and have used TransferWise who appear to offer a good exchange rate and low fees, but I've also used my Santander 123 account to withdraw cash via their ATM and they have said it is completely FREE !. ( Keep thinking there's a catch). So which is best? Anyone got advice please?

I do exactly the same as you using Tranferwise & Santander 123.
I move money to my Spanish bank account when I think the rate of exchange is good ( or not as the case may be !! )
    I move around £500 at a time.
I draw cash from my Santander 123 account if & when I need it but only small amounts.
The only thing you have to be careful of is remembering to pess the right button on the Santander ATM !!
I don't think there is a 'best' to be honest.

TransferWise give you the Interbank rate for 05% fee.

Your Santander Visa card gives you the day's Visa exchange rate if there are no fees for withdrawing cash from a Banco Santander ATM. (Be sure to select 'Without Conversion'.)

The Visa rate and the Interbank rate are not significantly different.

Revolut gives you the Interbank rate (weekdays) to convert and send euros to your Spanish account, zero fees up to £5k/mth, 0.5% thereafter.
    Evolution, not revolution
