For those of us that bake - cheap sugar.

Fairtrade too.
They have it at 79p a kilo but on buy one get one half price at the moment.
It works out at less that 60p a bag which is cheaper than anywhere near me.

    is this caster sugar or granulated please ?

    as i only use caster sugar for cooking. and if this is what it is , then off to M&S i go.

    It is granulated sugar - I find it's just as good for most things.
    I seem to remember hearing somewhere that if you particularly need castor sugar,give granulated quick wizz in a food processor and it becomes castor sugar - not tried it though.

    ah ok. well thanks anyway. i used to use granulated when i had sugar in tea. but i found nearly all recipes call for caster.

    wizzing in a food processer sounds interesting ( would it not become candy floss ?. i have just freecycled mine as it was from the arc . and i never use it.

    If you're careful with the whizzing :) then you can easily turn granulated sugar into caster. Just give it a quick blast in the food processor - not too long or you end up with icing sugar.
