I suspect the bands will march anyway, as they do most of the time.

You can't have the Twelfth without the Orange as each Orange lodge invites and in most occasions pay a band to lead them on parade. A Loyal Orange parade is much richer than a typical band parade in terms of floats, banners, bannerettes, family connections, history, religious/biblical elements and even music that is not prevalent in band parades.

Of course, its part of our culture and has been for a very long time and will continue to be so.

So if the OO decides to stop having the '12th', what's to stop the bands organising their own parade, as they do most of the time?

From doing research the Orange order is in decline so leaving at the 12th will not last much longer.

Maybe If you had used Google you would have got someone better Qualified to do your painting for you who knows you might have got yourelf an orangeman?:D

Good question, if the Loyal orders go out of business then that's the end of the Twelfths, Scarva, Derry Day and Black Saturday events as well as all Orange church parades.

As you have rightly said bands will still have their annual parades as they do now but with the Loyal orders gone the heart is gone and with that a huge array of tradition.

I think you're kidding yourself if you think they are going anywhere.

Scarva and Black Saturday are Royal Black Institution events, not Orange Order.

Neither organisation are going anywhere anytime soon. ;)

As long as there is a single Orange Man in a single Orange Order, there will be a 12th July Parade.

And if you look at the sheer numbers at each of the many demonstrations throughout Northern Ireland and beyond, thats not happening any time soon.

To be in the Royal Black one has to be in the Orange and in fact numerically the Royal Black in in severe trouble.
