apart from the broccoli, for me that's all a bit too salad-y for this time of year! Price is good though.
  • Both the broccoli and celery will be most welcome, to be transformed into soup with the reduced stilton I got last week.

I'm cross I bought celery full price yesterday. It lasts me for weeks as I only add a bit to casseroles.

I'll definitely be buying broccoli and radishes. Tomatoes if they're decent ones. I'll stock up on beetroot if it's the vacuum packs.

Well if the the author of this thread had not wiped out my original first post before everyone else on these offers, you would have noted that on Hduk a post was posted with a picture of the flyer from Aldi.

Looks like the beetroot is fresh bunches.

I'm aware of that but it's not that simple. I'll need to weigh up the cost (including my time) compared with buying already frozen veg or cans/cartons of tomatoes.

I noticed this week, for example, that Aldi have packs of frozen mushrooms which are far cheaper per kg than the ones they sell fresh. I'd only freeze my own if they were likely to be wasted rather than buy specially.

Then there's the issue of freezer space.....
