  • Hi Countingdownthedays!

If you think back to 25 months ago, it was December 2011.

Think about what you were doing at the time. I bet that feels like yesterday.

So 25 months from now is just tomorrow :)

Sorry if it's a bit profound but it's a technique I use that sometimes does the trick!

    Andrea :)

I feel worse and worse when I realise all the money I squandered over the years by just not having a budget!! If being careful, I could have saved £1K a month, by being VERY careful, I could have saved £1.5K!! Unbelievable!

Just the realisation that there is a debt problem and willing to do something about it is a good start. It's going to take me 21 months to decapitate the debt monster, so be it. I just hope I stay long enough in that fab job to allow me to repay it all by then.

Target set for December 2014: have £11K left to pay out of £24.7K!
  • not sure blue sums it up, we have a dmp at it will finish in 2025

    Debt-free and Proud!
I opened up a fixed ISA in November - Not realizing that I only had 60 days to fill it!! So a lonely £230 sits in there and I've been advised by Halifax that I need to go in branch and close it down if I want too...which I will do as it's pointless have £230 sit there for the next 2 years!! I won't save anything in February so I can bring my debt down 1 payday earlier (14 days) New debt free date is 7th March - 37 days til freedom!! :j
    Saved so far - £28,890.97

Hi, newbie here (not to debt unfortunately, just to the dfw boards!) fiddled about with paying things off before, but tbh, not really committed, hopefully I'll get things turned around from now, have a total of €2600 debt which isn't a major amount, but considering the bills that are due to come in and the mortgage arrears that HAVE to be paid off this year, I don't have much to throw at it to pay it off with. However, that said, my dfw date according to snowball is 20 months time, will try to get this down to xmas 2014.
    Credit card €7892.36/€ 0
    Catalogues €767.52/€ 0
    hospital costs €550
    wtshtf fund 0/ €2000

24th October 2015 as it stands but my plan is to bring this back to "By the end of" 2014 :)

    [STRIKE]DFD - 24th October 2015[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]DFD - 24th March 2015 [/STRIKE]
    DEBT FREE 24.03.15
  • When I started my DMP in August 2010 by DFD was September 2017 ... I have got this down to a last full payment in February 2015 with a balancing payment in March 2015... Just 12 months from now and if I have a good year (I'm self-employed) I would love to get it done this side of 2015! I can actually see light at the end of the tunnel so anyone with a long time to go - don't give up!
