So this morning , I was up early, but not feeling too good.probably a prednisone day . Was going to go to the gym, but heavy rain said no.

I was just looking around the place and I found about a dozen or so ants scattered around the ceiling and coving in the small room .
Managed to kill most of them . They don’t seem to be anywhere else
    in the flat..yet!
I’ve just got some Raid Spray and sprayed around different areas of the flat. Not seen anymore since I left about 2 hours ago.
What made them invade my flat in October is a mystery .
Wondering if the vacant flat above has anything to do with it .
Speaking of which, I looked on the right move app and the flat has been withdrawn from the market .
I’m hoping that I haven’t got an infestation of them .
The ants are not the flying ants .

I’ll hop, over to the Home section here ,and see if they may be able to advise.

    How are things going AC?

Hi Mrs. P Hope all’s well with you .
The ant problem seems to be gone . The pram and bike are outside my door, but I’m just letting that go over my head so to speak .
There are worse things in life after all . Last week was the most miserable I’ve had since being here. Mainly due to the weather preventing me going to the gym with the walk to and from.
I haven’t got a decent rain jacket which fits and I don’t want to look like I’ve just come off the Jeremy Kyle show . I may find something big enough when the winter comes.

I sold a couple of bits on Ebay . I broke part of one of my stereo speakers. Ended up getting a fantastic smaller pair from richer sounds in their place. The damaged ones will be sold on eBay . Last day tomorrow when I should find out how much I’ll get.
At least I never got an expensive wireless speaker. Love my setup now.

Feel positive again and not as down as last week . I suppose being on my own all day ,, I’m bound to have off days .

Had more root canal treatment last Thursday . 2 more appointments at Dentist to come . Tomorrow and next weds. Then that’s it for six months .

Just got a letter from m b n a . Not one of my creditors of my dmp.
I complained through a third party regarding ppi. Was told not successful . Apparently, all 8 do now is fill in my latest details and send off, as there’s been a Supreme Court decision making a new way to complain . I willl ask on one of the other boards about this , just Incase I’m wasting my time .
    That’s it for now :)

Doing a part time job could be good for getting you out and about and seeing people AC as well as being good financewise. Once your health is better hopefully you can find something. In the meantime keep up with the gym in between dodging showers.

Yes very true about the part time job enthusiastic .
I’m aiming for a spring return to some sort of employment .
I’m still not ready but am still sticking with the gym and not eating as much rubbish etc .
When I went to see the specialist in London a few weeks ago , he said he won’t change anything for another 6 months as I’ve not lost weight since the last time he saw me .
The other day, I receive a letter from him advising me to reduce the prednisolone from 7.5 mg to 5 m g as I looked well .
Not sure how that’s gonna pan out . I haven’t changed dosage yet as I don’t want any side effects when I go to London next week at the o2. Next weds is when I will change dosage and hope for no side effects .
The idea is that in a few months time I will look and be lighter and presentable in the workplace .

    Hi AC.

Back from my holidays and just catching up.

Re the bike and pram. Sorry but it’s not on.

You shouldn’t have to “live and let live” on that one. They are a fire hazard. Communal areas need to be kept clear at all times.......basic “Elf ‘n’ Safety” I’m afraid. Same with the flyers and junk mail. They are a fire risk.

Just one of the reasons I too couldn’t live in a flat, quite apart from the fact that I would not be happy having to negotiate an obstacle course to reach the outside door I am also not prepared to let others put me at risk from either fire or vermin infestations by their messy untidy habits.

    As for the noise:eek:

Not that I’m antisocial but I belong to a school of thought that says “good fences make good neighbours”. :rotfl:

Had a lovely holiday and am now back all fired up and ready to crack on and finish the decorating etc.

Hope you are all recovered from the dentists. I need some work done but I am postponing it until after the Amazon trip. Only 12 weeks to go and need to get my vaccinations sorted ASAP so that’s next on the list.

You need to get yourself a waterproof jacket asap AC. The weather's only going to get wetter and you can't keep putting off going out because it's raining!

Who are you going to see at the O2?

    Hi LL/Gigervamp :)
Glad you had a nice break LL .
Regarding the pram/bike situation : I moved into confusion .
As I say, the tenant one floor above moved out . She had 2 kids I think. She seemed to move out suddenly as her brother came to visit a few days before she disappeared . She still has mail delivered to this building including items to be signed for . Very strange .
Nobody moved in yet as her replacement .

The couple 2 floors up: man sometimes leaves bike outside , sometimes in . The woman has just had a baby so now a pram is there . She puts bike in front of my door, with the pram towards he front door. Difficult to explain without writing an essay .

The kids were running up and down he stairs on Saturday for a few hours but that’s what kids do . Don’t really hear them in my flat .

Baring in mind the hassle I’ve had getting here and of course my own fault for buying a flat , I have to show a more tolerant approach.
I may complain to the managing agents but I dipont know if that’s a bad idea. I’ve only been here since June. So need to be level headed and not hot headed.

Yes Gigervamp , I will look into a jacket soon .

It’s metallica next Tuesday at o2:)

AC....agree with gigervamp. Time to get your winter wardrobe sorted out, including a warm waterproof.

    Winter is Coming. :rotfl:

And unless you want to spend the next six months indoors then you had better get prepared. ;).

Remember the old saying. “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes” lol.

Btw.....I realise you don’t drive. Is there a particular reason for this...

You are still young enough to learn and you have the funds for both lessons and a small inexpensive car. I only drive a Ford Fiesta but it’s a great little runabout and serves me well.

Having a car does give a degree of freedom. And it might help make you more employable. Not necessarily driving for your job but it would open up more opportunities than if you were to rely on shanks’s pony or public transport to get to and from work.

I can understand not having a vehicle whilst living in London where they can be more of a liability than an asset but now that you are no longer a big city dweller then a set of wheels could be a worthwhile investment for you.

Well it’s back to the paint rollers and brushes this week. Don’t fancy it much but needs must if I am ever to get this house finished. :rotfl:

    Hi LL.

I took a fair few driving lessons back in the ‘90s . Even got as far as taking my first test . Weighing everything up, I’m so,used to not having a car and don’t really want to learn now . Driving is a skilful asset for sure .

Have you decided on the colours of your new project ?
