Morning everyone, thanks for the start Dumpling, hugs to you and your girls.

Hope things have been settled overnight for your Mum Gers.

Dry and bright here but a definite bbrr kind of morning, wind and rain is forecasted for later this afternoon so will be heading off the yard after the Archers. My DOH has said he will come to meet Lulu :)
I have just popped some stewing steak in the SC so that will do for supper tonight, also have some butternut squash that needs using up so will make a batch of soup as well ready for this week's lunches, it's certainly moved on from salad time!
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks x

TA i had the same trouble with my Windows phone and also went for a Samsung Galaxy J5, on my DHs recommendation. I am loving it, now i have got everything sorted out!

Just having a breakfast break at the lottie... just picked a bucket of French beans and dug up an Ike@ blue bag of spuds for the winter. Now got to venture into the greenhouses & pick tomatoes peppers chillies and aubergine - at least the cucumbers have finished, we couldn't keep up with them and I gave loads away!

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) Hugs if you need one.

Dumpling..... sorry to hear about your problems with your daughters, I hope they are better today.

Gers.....hope your Mum had a better night and is recovering.

Feeling rough again this morning, not sure if its the tablets, they are not the ones I have had before, will wait and see as the day goes on, at least I did not have to get ip during the night.

Its a grey morning, how thankful we are that we do not live in the US..those storms are truly awful and the damage horrendous, how do people recover from that? I have a friend in Tampa, I am wondering if they will get caught, the storm has moved to the west. Another two friends live on the eastern seaboard further up the coast, one in Raleigh Durham and the other one in Pennsylvania. WE are keeping a close eye on the news.

Roast shoulder of lamb for supper, I will prep the veg a bit later......no idea what we will have for dessert.

Still trying to wake up properly as I was reading the latest Val McDermid book till nearly three

The dishwasher is on and I am about to jump er plod into the shower and wash my hair and look out a nice top and trousers as two dds and a SIL are coming for lunch. Just realised that although I have treated myself to several nice new tops in the sales because several of them are blue. it looks as if I am always wearing the same one so will make sure I wear something obviously different. I am planning tarragon chicken with green veg and roasties, wedges or low fat chips.

It looks as if my gp's referral to a specialist has been overruled by a committee so am reading myself for a bit of a battle tomorrow, sigh. Both dd and SIL have contacts in medicine so will pick their brains later. Just realised that last sentence sounds a bit threatening :o

I know you are working like a thing demented just now but I hope that as the present job ends you will have built up a good reputation with boat cleaning and can pick and choose what you do. Once the amount of work justifies it please consider any tools that will make the work quicker and easier like a light cordless vac etc.

    Dumpling

I hope your daughters feel a little better soon and can get the help and advice they need.

    Gers

I hope your mum is responding to treatment and feels more comfortable.

    Hugs to all

I agree with you about the devastation in America and neighbouring countries. It is so easy to forget the havoc natural events can cause.

I have been reading a blog by Dave the natural weather forecaster and he is forecasting some warm weather in October round half term holidays but then a hard winter and a lot of flooding in January. As the bridge connecting our town collapsed a couple of years ago due to floods I am glad I am on the other end of town now and have online shopping set up.

Good morning everyone, thanks to dumpling for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.
After yesterday's lovely weather it's back to wet, cold and windy today. I think I over did the gardening yesterday, I'm very stiff, still I got a good few jobs done.

Tonight my Dad, Sister & Nephew are coming round and we are going to treat ourselves to a takeaway and no doubt a few wines will be consumed. Apart from that I'm for a quiet day.

I hope everyone has a good day x

Oh lawks, it's our anniversary on Wednesday, and I haven't even thought about a card - and my printer's kaput!
I think I have a nice card I bought at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust that will serve - if I can find it!

Also had a call a bit earlier from the dog holidays company, a Carer has been taken into hospital so we have a guest dog with no "hotel" to go to; upshot is myself and another Carer will have her; R will take her til Monday night (Mia's being collected sometime on Monday) and will then bring her to me to look after til Thursday evening, when her owner's daughter will collect her. Bit of a panic (neither R nor I can do the whole holiday due to other dog commitments) but we have it covered. Phew! :o

Oh, and Happy Anniversary for tomorrow Mr & Mrs FBO :T

    Hi everyone
Spent the morning with my dad as usual on a Sunday so my mam can go to church. He dictated a very long email to eldest DD in Leeds.
Had a nice chat with DD this afternoon and then spent an hour pottering in the garden, which I enjoyed even though it kept drizzling. Covered my big long pots with netting as they are now empty and a cat keeps using one of them as a litter tray. Hoping this will work. Also deadheaded the plants and just general tidying. Bought some trout fillets reduced in M and S this morning for tea. Haven't cooked these before but I expect I can just stick them in the oven same as salmon. Nice and lazy now.
  • Afternoon all

Late one from me today. I spent the afternoon rummaging under the stairs. I have found the last crochet project I worked on and my size 4 crochet hook-phew.

Oh has been "mentioning" that we have no Victoria sandwich so I have just made one. He is always eager to wash up for me if I have been making cake.

LW glad you and another carer saved the day.
Gers hope your mum is improving.
Dumpling hope the girls feel better soon.

Hugs and spoons all round. hope everyone has a good evening.
