    I'm a little confused, I thought I posted on the thread and then got a reply. Not having a reply yet I guess I was wrong.

    It is better to start a new thread for your own query. If you post on someone else's thread there is a risk that your question may get missed - which is what seems to have happened here.

    Apologies - missed your thread . You are right notice if you have been employed over 8 years is 8 weeks. Generally you should get your normal full wage or pay in lieu of . see adviceguide factsheet - notice of dismissal from work attached below. :

    If they wont budge on this then you need to get help from your local CAb who may be able to negotiate with you employer on your behalf.
