It would be helpful to know year, make and precise model
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • What kind of prestige car is it that you are happy to buy on ebay? And pay for by bank transfer?

From a bloke who claims he's selling it for someone else and gives you some dodgy paperwork
  • It's a Bentley. The op has posted on pistonheads too.

That's a really, really long post. Might be worth editing it down and losing some of the "I said, he said, I said".

    I can't follow it.

I didnt get half way through before giving up
  • Now if i wanted a bentley so badly that i was willing to take out a huge loan would i shop on ebay..............

My advice is take the bloody thing to a garage you trust and get it serviced correctly
  • A Bentley?...on ebay?...personal loan!

If the seller doesn't want to help you'll need to issue a small claims action. Issuing the claim will be £1,000+.

The small claims limit is £10k so they don’t have that option.
    What a mess.

    Agreed.

You could do with doing a HPI check too?

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time
  • It sounds like you can formally reject the car and issue a legal claim against the dealer for a refund if you wish.

It is quite easy to do.

However, as the value of your claim would exceed the £10k small claims limit, you would be liable for the dealer's legal costs if you lose (though he would have to pay your legal costs if you win).
