    The good news - Ebico still lives! Still with a zero Standing charge!!

    They are now partnered with Robin Hood Energy instead of SSE.

    Loads of posts on this forum on this subject.

    correct the zero Standing charge is available , but not for pre payment meters ,

    the tarrif for zero Standing charge is 16.60 for elec and 4.96 for gas

    elec = £351

    gas = £170

    not a very good deal is it

    eversmart seem to be best for me

    pay as you go ,

    gas 4.32 =£148

    elec 14.70 = £311

    no standing charge

  • There are other companies with no SC for PAYG, tend to charge higher unit rates though. Nothing SSE do surprises me anymore, title of thread is misleading though, Ebico isn't the cause of this SSE is

    I've looked at Robin Hood Energy and can't find the tariff with no standing charge - could you let me know what it's called please?

    I received the letter today telling me that I'm being moved to a tariff with a standing charge and am not happy about the rise in bills this will bring.

    I got the same letter but my letter has a "we'll repay you the difference" section on it.
    They say they will credit the difference for the next 6 months by crediting £8 to my account each month.
    Electric is prepay, gas is direct debit.

    For us, I think we're just going to stay with them for now.
    Only just home from work and read the letter so going to look around and see what others are saying.

    I will not be going with Robin Hood Energy. The previous comments about them totally put me off.

    the only no standing chaarge one is for NON prepayment meters and is

    elec 16.60 per unit

    gas 4.96 per unit

    they will remove pre pay meters , robin hood do not do credit checks

    HOWEVER

    if you allow your pre pay to trip over to emergency in previous 6 mths to change you will not qualify

    Consult a comparison site to find the best deal(s) for you.
    However, now the authorities have interfered with PPM tariffs by capping them, there really isn't much to chose between any supplier for those with a PPM.

    You are correct that Ebico still lives.

    However, there is now a standing charge for those supplied via a PPM - that's government interference for you.

    There are other companies with no SC for PAYG, ...
    I don't think there are for those supplied via PPM

    But I'm all ears if you know otherwise :)

    Ebico changed it due to the nature of the price caps (i.e. they cannot any longer charge significantly higher unit prices) - they said the only way to supply now that makes business sense is to impose a standing charge
