EPC and RHI

Am I right in that you only need to have a recent EPC to get RHI now? For some reason I thought you needed to be a D before you could claim (FIT or RHI) which for my old house is impossible WITHOUT fitting renewables, and I'd started to think we couldn't do it. But now going through the RHI calculator and putting in the EPC we have now (and it will be better soon) we still get RHI? Now this seems a very sensible change (maybe I read a very old bit of legislation). Can anyone confirm?

    Hi

EPC = Energy Performance Certificate rating for homes.
RHI = Renewable Heating Incentive for low carbon heating of homes - similar to the FiT (Feed in Tariff) scheme for microgeneration technologies.

I'm trying to work out what EPC really stands for the crookedness mine is. Apparently I've got 1 star No low energy lighting even though I've got A+ Ultrabrite LED's fitted throughout the house.
Best of all though is that the walls are made of "Sandstone or limestone, as built, no insulation (assumed)". I've got photos and have pointed out that it's built with Thermalite with insulation material in between the outside layer and faced with sandstone. I even pointed out the type of Thermalite that has been used by comparing it to the web page.
I'm wondering if there's a contact where I can challenge his decision.
