There are loads and loads of friendly bloggers out there - my list doesn't cover them all - it is only a small minority who don't like compers - thankfully! We just need to know who they are :) Not to condem, as every blogger is entitled to their own opinions :)
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

I am more concerned about knowing about the bloggers who simply won't choose a comper as a winner - I don't want to be wasting my time entering or tweeting daily to win a prize I have no chance of winning anyway - and I am sure many others on here feel the same. Bloggers who don't want compers entering and don't want their comps listed on here should surely agree with their name being added to a list.

I posted the list of above because I know these bloggers are friendly and don't mind who enters their comps, and as long as they are seen to have entered truthfully (ie not cheated), then they will happily send out the prize to a comper is if they are chosen as the winner.

I would be happy for anti-compers bloggers to be added to the list of comps not to be posted on MSE - and this list already exists: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5200313 So we don't really need a list of pro-comper bloggers but we do need a list of anti-comper bloggers

Any that don't want their competitions posted just the same as any other site should be added to the non post list but there is no reason blogs or other sites should be singled out for "promotion" as possibly ok sites.

I run a blog and my giveaways are open for everyone, providing all confirmed entry methods are valid when I check the winner selected I never disqualify anyone.

I hope you don't mind me pointing out though, a few who've won from my blog I've unfortunately found a minority of compers to be really rude and demanding.

One simply sent a postal address in response to my WEM with no thank you or any signing off and whilst I don't expect gushes of OMG's or "You've made my year!!" A less generic response would have been nice.

I've had "wheres my prize, it's not come yet - not happy" posts plastered across my social media sites 24hrs after announcing the winner.

I'd also received a snarky email being threatened to be reported to the ASA over a lowish value sealed children's art set which I bought out of my own pocket because one of the pens didn't work!

I know this is a minority and all the folk I've met on here and got to know on Facebook through our hobby have been lovely, I do see why perhaps some bloggers are not so keen on us compers if tarring us all with the same brush from my experience is anything to go by.

Wow I follow the LBQ blog as I am a blogger, but also enter competitions here and there as a hobby. It's astonishing how mean some people can be when they originally seemed so friendly. Not sure I want to contribute follows to someone whose posts make me so sad. :(

It's usually little girlie makeup bloggers who go in for this sort of thing, people who you just know won't cope at all well with getting older, it's usually little girlie prizes too.

Come on we're serious compers if we want a Body Shop Souffle or whatever we just go and buy it.

    Let's get it in perspective.:)

I agree - I tend not to enter raffs to win make-up and I too avoid the very young bloggers (not that I am saying all young beauty bloggers are anti-compers). I find the more mature and mummy bloggers are usually the most friendly :o

  • I feel it is justified that I reply to the mention of my blog on this thread, seeing as I have had a surge in views thanks to this page. As you will see from the way I worded my blog post, I would like to be able to give back to the readers of my blog, and for one of them to win, however, if a comper wins it's not a problem. I did not say that compers and non-bloggers are excluded, which is why I said to 'think twice' before entering. However, I don't want people entering a competition on my blog, a blog they have no intention of reading following the giveaway, and then simply unfollowing once the competition is over. I enter competitions myself but would never dream of entering a competition on a blog that I don't follow or would never read myself.
