Well thanks to greent I have just reread my whole mortgage free diary (not the other one as I don't have a weekend free). And yes what a great way it is to remind ourselves where we’ve come from.
    • Since 01/01/2016 when I owed in total £139729 I now owe £128332. :T
    • I’ve increased my income by 25%
    • Re-mortgaged and my daily interest has dropped from £9.13 to £6.68 (Saving £894.25 per year)
    • DD had no job, and no qualifications, and now she has a level 3 NVQ and has just started a career in the NHS.
    • Both kids now pay me monthly board (DD is much better at is than DS) – although I actually put this away for them and they can have it back when they move out (Soon please!)
    • Met the Mr Right
    • Met a lady who sailed round the world and is now a great friend and is part of a new group of friends I’m going on holiday with next month
    • Both kids have passed their driving test, have their own cars and fund them their selves
    • I’ve been on the BBC with my Youtube channel
    • I’ve cycled coast to coast across England
    • I’ve done dry January and bought a new car
    • I bought a melon baller apparently and have no idea where it is now, and a milk frother which I don’t use
    • I haven’t had my roof fixed, but I have a new patio, decking, drive way and bathroom

So despite feeling I had fallen off the wagon and lost the plot financially, things have been going rather well behind my back, imagine what would happen if I really went for it!
Good news is that the new CC appeared in my banking app today and I have requested the transfer. As it’s so easy to pay it I have no doubt that this will be paid off within the 12 months, and then I can properly concentrate on the mortgage.
I’m not going to save an emergency fund any more, I just end up spending it on something else, all excess money will go on those pesky repayments.

    So todays list

    • [STRIKE]Finish painting wood work in new bathroom (need to fill and prime first)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Have lunch with my oldest friend
    • [/STRIKE]Make some new videos for Youtube
    • [STRIKE]Tidy conservatory[/STRIKE] (I’m having a party next Saturday, I’ve been invited to that many gatherings over the last year at other peoples houses, I felt I should reciprocate) Everyone’s bringing drink and a dish for the table, so hopefully won’t be a big expense. But I’ve LOADS of tidying to do.
I better get to it, have a lovely day all xx

Thank you to you Greent :)

I have made new videos, and caught up with not 1 but 2 lovely friends, 1 my oldest and the other my newest!
I have filled, sanded, painted, filled, sanded, painted, and everytime I look there's a bit I missed, or a run or something, it's doing my head in

I haven't really started on the conservatory yet, but DS is helping me take some stuff to the skip after lunch.

Yesterday I spend £2 on cake at the coffee shop, my friend paid for lunch. And today I indend to spend zilch so a frugal week
    .
Later I've got packing to do then going over to BFs for the evening then heading down to London first thing in the morning for most of the week with horrible job. On a good note (hopefully) about the job, I have a new boss in September, and a new head of department, so hopefully things will get better.
Also mustn't lose site of the fact that I get paid 25p per mile for driving to the oriface and back and all my food/expenses paid for the week - ideal job for a single person with no off spring! :rotfl:

Made it around the M25 and comfy in my hotel for the week. I'm just sooo tired, I had to pull in to services and have a sleep on the drive down, sleeping on the job!

I chased up the FD who looked suitably embarrassed that my expense were 2 months over due and made up to rubbish story about being on holiday and a HR issue. Any how that should be paid a week Friday along with this months which is £1200. I’m going to pay that straight of the CC, the child benefit can wait until they start shouting for it, I haven’t even had a reminder yet!

Today is a no spend day, and so was yesterday, I’m planning for that to continue until the end of the week. Payday on Friday woohoo and I will have some money left over from this month, so hoping to pay at least £300 off card then, or should I split it and do 50% on card and 50% off mortgage, and what about the pension where I’ll get 40% tax relief. Too many decisions, what to do!!!?

Oh dear, a bit of a relapse today, I found myself in home bargains looking for women’s things, and came out with bathroom accessories and a new kitchen bin.
I also saw an advert for the new hand held dyson and I WANT ONE - but £400 for a vacuum, I need to get a grip...
Checked the mortgage account, and sooo close to 10% paid off now, also calculated that daily interest rate has dropped by 5p - £18.25 per year.
Work must have felt guilty, as they've done a fast payment on my expenses which should be paid before Friday.

Also applied for yet another job, would be a pay increase of 18%, but a lot more responsibility and work, so don't know, not sure I've got all the credentials they would be looking for either, time will tell.

I would highly recommend it. Very grounding!

Typing this on my phone as no wifi tonight. Balance transfer has come through and I already paid £125 off, this won't take long 😜.

A no spend day, and applied for yet another job , ludicrous salary 😂 Probably out of my league but nothing ventured and all that....

    Post weekend update…

Party went well, I think in all probably cost me about £80, including some gorgeous vintage wine glasses I found in Oxfam, So that’s my party duties over for a bit, I can attend others without feeling guilty for not reciprocating. Also my conservatory is now cleaned and cleared, although there is still 2 boxes left over from moving that I need to sort, no idea what’s in them.

Payday happened Friday, plus an expense payment (should be another due this Friday too) £475 paid off the CC and the same amount off the mortgage, so I’m making some headway now. Only 0.06% to go until 10% off the mortgage. INFACT back in a mo…. Just paid another £90 into mortgage, so I’ve now paid 10.01%, how’s that for Monday motivation.

I’ve been fiddling with the mortgage overpayment calculator this morning, if I could always make overpayments this big, then my 10 year plan is doable still
No movement on fleabay stuff, but a couple of watchers, I must get more stuff listed. Also have a friend opening up a vintage dress agency so I must have a sort out and see what I could flog there.

Still in bed on here, work from home day to day. So must get up and get to…have a lovely day all xx
