    I can always tell when my central heating comes on from the noise the pipes make. As they warm up, they expand. As they expand, they produce a quite distinctive ticking noise as they rub against the woodwork.
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    Then they aren't supported clear of joists with the clips advised, ;););):A:A
