I might pay the first time but would tell him I did not want my windows cleaned again - he's probably trying it on, especially if he was paid before

Immediately board all your windows up so he can't clean them again.

Although if he does a good job of sanding and varnishing the boards, you may need to reconsider....
  • I'd pay the first time, assuming a good job was done, but say that you won't pay in future.

No paying and yes to reporting because it sounds like a scam.

Call the police. Report him for trespass, criminal damage. Report him to trading standards ... Under the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act 1971, (as amended) it is an offence to demand payment for goods known to be unsolicited.
Install CCTV to catch him if he does it again.
  • You should charge the window cleaner, you were after all providing him with some windows to clean.
  • Like so many things in life, it's a con - don't pay for things you haven't asked for.

    NO
    end of,

    Oh, the irony.
  • No, afraid not. I might have been inclined to pay the first time but, once told, the window cleaner's on his own time. Don't pay!
  • No Way

Just make it clear that you are not paying for his window cleaning service and if he continues to do so then let him, more fool him.

Just enjoy it while you can, I would love to get my windows done and not pay for it!!
