Tax assessment - Self employed when using umbrella company? 13th Nov 17 at 10:05 PM
Just filling in self assessment form.

I'm a sole trader using an umbrella company so pay PAYE tax etc. Do I still put on the form I'm self employed but put in the umbrella company's details under 'Employer Name'?

Then put my name under 'Business Name'?

If you work through an umbrella company then that is employment. You need to fill out an employment sheet.

You may also be self employed if you do other work directly without using the umbrella.
