I only count money I pay into that specific savings account. I don't count interested earned on any accounts, I purely take it from money I can save from my wages.

My personal view is if you have a large isa and your getting i dunno 3k in interest, to me that isn't money "your" saving, it's money you have made by leaving money in an account but i know everyone looks at it differently so its basically your personal choice, for me i wanted to do this from what i can save for my wages no a combination of savings, interest, dividends etc.

Reporting for the month of February: £1427.33. Hopefully things will look up for the rest of the year... Loads of unexpected work related expenses that would hopefully provide a return in the future. I have claimed tax relief for work related expenses for this tax year so hopefully I will get a refund next pay day.

Trying out Matched Betting in my free time to try boost that savings pot!! Wish me luck!

I'm curious about people whose savings are in round numbers. I save everything I don't spend, so my numbers are very rarely whole numbers. For those whose numbers are neater than mine, is it because you throw whole numbers into your savings and leave the messy numbers in your current account as a float?

I do have odd bits on my savings but tend to leave them and only declare the whole number, I think I had an additional 65p for feb but carried it forward to march if that makes sense :)

I pay my savings, 1/12th of my target, as soon as I get paid. Most of mine in currently going straight into an extra pension that I will take as a cash sum in September when I retire, and so I never even see it. So it is always a "neat" number. There are some months when I've got a bit extra left over or a little windfall, so that gets rolled up into the next month's.

I don't count money in my current account, so that's where all the raggy ends of money are!
