Is short term investing wise?

What time horizon should I invest , for maximum optimal returns?

Warren Buffet makes money long term , a study by MacArthur Foundation gave out its batch of "genius grants" to a an economist who said "most traders are idiots" and I read internet searches saying day traders are idiots /stupid etc.

No offence meant to anybody.

Not quite sure why you're trying to achieve with all these threads?

Sigh you clearly already know the answers to most of the questions you are asking so it's just polluting the forum and taking attention from the threads where people genuinely do need help.

Is there no way you could apply yourself here or elsewhere to be more useful?

You set up a thoroughly diversified, global portfolio of collective investments and global index trackers, and leave it alone except for an annual rebalancing tweak. Reinvest all dividends.

Put money into this that you will not need for at least five or six years, and preferably ten or more.

Spread the rest of your money across interest-bearing accounts, National Savings and - if you still have some to spare - peer-to-peer lending and so on.

PMs from people interested in his HYIP / Ponzi scheme that supposedly doubles his money every six months, would be my guess.
