  • definately not a nsd today, went into town early and spent £100 in boots in their 75% off sale. So that is a pile of christmas, mothers and fathers days presents got for this coming year. Every year I have thought of doing this and this is the first year we have actually done it, really pleased, was worth getting organised to do this, now just need to remember where I have hidden them and not buy duplicate pressies when the time comes. :j

  • just back from our week in the sun and although we slightly exceeded our budget, managed quite a frugal week. Apartments were basic, but clean, and ate out at lots of cheap, but tasty places. Managed to resist buying from duty free - usually I am a sucker for make up and perfumes. There was a point about half way through the week when I was trying to tempt OH into splashing the credit card and upgrading us to a fancier hotel, but we didnt.

off for a bath, then a sleep in my own bed.

  • thank you folks, was a great holiday. Lying in my lovely comfy bed with the washing machine going full blast and thinking I have to get up and fill the fridge again. And have just weighed myself and declared the start of yet another diet. For both of us:rotfl: So as well as eating cheaply, will have to eat healthily... a real challenge on a budget.

also got online to bank for the first time this week and discovered I was paid early from my 2nd job, and got my petrol expenses from my main job. Just as well i hadn't realised that was sitting there or I would have definately upgraded to a posher hotel. Haven't done too much moving around money yet as not got main earnings until later this week, and am owe OH some cash from his business account..as well as worrying about his tax bill:mad:

But, have OP another 100 quid to mortgage this morning, although it's really depressing when over £60 interest has been charged since i last logged on. onwards and upwards, best get out of bed and head for the supermarket for some grub. really gonna miss those tapas today

  • got paid early this month, and got some overtime that I did last month, so that was nice. have more overtime booked on thursday, friday and monday this week, but had already booked a couple of small shift with my 2nd job on thursday night, then again on sat and sun...I am going to be grumpy working all that! Still, it was worth it today when I was able to do another overpayment of £ 240.

  • Hi Kirsty,

Great diary am enjoying reading about your small overpayments. Plugging away on my own mortgage, only got 7,000 left to pay now so its getting smaller :)
  • Well done your doing so well. It is tiring doing all the extra hours but seeing the figure going down is a big boost. Good luck well on target.
