HMRC Repayment Pending 13th Apr 15 at 9:30 AM
    Hi All,

Done my tax return on the 6/4/15, checked the status on the 07th and it was showing bank repayment pending thought Ild phone up and see as this is the first time iv done my return myself.

Was told by advisor it would be issued the 10th but nothing as if today, am i being to hastey or should I give them a call again.

Iv seen a few things about security checks if anybody can possibly enlighten me on this or if anybody else has any previous experience.

    Thanks

Just joined the forum and i must say its nice everyone keeping each other updated. Let me update you with my tax refund journey.
I did my self assessment on the 7th April, nothing had happened on the 17th April so i phoned them and the nice lady actioned the repayment and told me i would have the funds in three weeks at the latest. Nothing had been received by the 1st May so i phoned them back. I was then told that it had been sent to Edinburgh on the 21st April and they couldnt look into it until the 18th May. I phoned them back today and was told that it had gone for security checks and i had to wait until the 1st June. If i havent received the money by then, then i have to phone up on the 2nd June. The lady told me that Edinburgh are the ones that do the security checks. It is ridiculous, i have worked hard all year and paid 20% cis deductions every month to find i have to wait 8+ weeks for my tax repayment. My account has been saying repayment pending since 20th April. Is anybody else still waiting?

Have you been back and looked at the details on the return you submitted? If you've read through a few pages of this thread and the other similar one you'll have noticed some common themes, particularly some people seem to struggle with concept of having to pay national insurance and have tried, possibly accidentally, to avoid paying the ni that was due on their business profits.

Oh right, from my tax refund there have been deductions of class2 and 4 NI contributions when i did my SA. I had to wait this long last year for a smaller amount, i guess it will be paid when its paid.

Just out of curiosity Mickthechip80, did your tax return go to the Swindon department? I think I'm in the same situation as yourself. I also did my SA on the 6th of April, went for a review in edinburgh then from there to Swindon. I haven't received a letter though, however hmrc told me when I telephoned them in April I would hear from them by the 15th of June.

Hmrc are a joke been waiting since the 6th April been through checks etc spoke to them last week and they said yes it's ready to be paid all we need is your bank details so it should only take 3/5 working days nothing yet. Spoke them them again on Tuesday and they said yes it's getting issued tonight (Tuesday) but when I log in it's still saying payment depending

Has this happen to anyone else?? Filed on 7th April kept on saying I was in credit x amount. Everything 48 hours and still the same! It went through checks got past off last week so they ask for my bank details the day after it went to bank Repment depending. Just spoke to them again now and it gone to checks again and have to phone back 7th off July that will be 14weeks what a joke and so stressing as they are quicker enough to take it off you. Does anyone know how long it may take now thanks

Hi I'm new to this forum but have been looking at this thread throughout, I have submitted my return and it went from bank repayment pending with 'pending' in the date to bank repayment and '14th July 2017' in the date section. Does this mean it has been issued and that it will be a case of waiting for it to go in to bank or does it mean it is still having security checks? Any information would be amazing
    Thanks

    self asessment refund 2017
I have been waiting three weeks now...rang them today, but a man told me that HMRC were entitled to hold on to the money for 12 months. Helpful !! Anyone know the average waiting time for 2017 ? Also, I accidentally gave a wrong figure last year, which was quickly remedied and my refund was then issued. Will they be more stringent the next year, to double check my refund ? It should all be in order, but I wondered if it would be protocol.
