Partial order return, retrospective delivery charge

I ordered some items from an online retailer. The order quantity qualified for free delivery.

I subsequently returned some items and appear to face been charged retrospectively for the delivery.

Their website makes no mention of this, can they do this?

    Why are you returning them? (Fault, not as described, change of mind?)

    I'll be interested to see what people reply, but if you've changed your mind (rather than the goods being faulty) and returned part of the order which has therefore brought the order below the threshold, it seems fair.

    Although I'm surprised they didn't simply reduce the amount they refunded you to take the delivery into account.

    Apologies for not being clearer, they reduced the refunded amount.

    You've not answered the question about it being not as described/faulty which leads me to believe you have changed your mind (if it was faulty, I'm guessing they offered you a replacement).

    In that case, they are within their rights to charge you the postage as your order no longer qualifies for free delivery.

    Who paid for the returns?

    Do their T&Cs cover who pays for change-of-mind returns?

    It was a change of mind, i paid for the return. Their terms and conditions don't mention this.

    By returning part of the order you no longer qualified for free postage...it's that simple and straight forward.

    Who was the retailer, the T&C's always reveal the truth as most don't even read them that come on here with this type of complaint.


    There is also no such thing as free delivery.
