It's a spend day for me today, I managed to book a winter break for my sisters and myself and get the 33% offer off the cost, so we get to stay in a posh hotel in Kensington and have a bit of family time next winter. I've started a sealed jar to save for the spends, we are going to pretend we are posh, shop at Harrods etc, perhaps just a jar of jam from there as a xmas pressie for someone, but it will give us all something to aim for, I'm going to suggest that they too start a sealed tin for the spends. How exciting!!
Managed to freeze some stuff yesterday and realise that I need now to start emptying the freezer, we should be able to live for a month on the contents and just some basics, loads of xmas chocs, cakes and goodies left, feel a bit sick looking at them!
Booked to start a Zumba class so need to sort out what I can wear, I haven't got any trainers but am wondering if theres a pair of son#3 old ones which might fit until I decide if i like it, might just wear his whole PE kit!:rotfl: could you imagine how many people would shy away from me in that:rotfl:
Need to phone the lady from the WI tomorrow and book to visit them on their next meeting, I have had some emails from her and her contact number for a while but feel a bit intimidated by joining although i know when i do I'll love it.
Any way off to feed the animals and dig out fabric to start making some Vintage Rag Dolls, I'll pop some pics on when I've done some x:Dvintage43:A

The orange juice have you got any lollipop containers, fruit juice freezes well.
Isn't it strange, I put the value apple juice in a nice jug and they can't get enough of it, Kids eh!
Taking some jeans back to H&M today that didn't fit son#3 which he was bought for xmas, hope they'll give him a voucher.
Also going to try to exchange a snood bought for son#1 which he will never wear at M&S.
I'm keeping up with adding everything up as i go along and piggy banking, which is great cos it means lunch money, taxi for son#3 is all there i don't have to worry and because I've already piggybanked it I'm going to count today as a NSD as its just those two essentials that I'm spending on, not sure if that is the correct definition of NSD??
Cheese and onion pastie out of the freezer:money: and instructions for son#1 to make a shepards pie while I'm at work as i'm late in tonight.
I made £8.00 on Ebay so that will go straight into the christmas fund.
Have a great wednesday - half way through the working week already, i like it!:jvintage43:A

I think that I am becoming slightly obsessed with not spending, cut some vouchers out of a mag today that I'll try to use at the self serve at Mr T tomorrow, only 95p in total but as they say in Mr T land every little helps.
Haven't spent any money again today, all food from freezer and stores, had a lovely slice of last nights shepards pie which son#1 made last night, mucho tasty. The down side to all this happiness at the money saving is that I've got too big for my jeans and am munching my way through all the chocs that the kids have left, tempted to bin them but I think I'll take them into work tomorrow and let everyone else finish them off then at least they are not wasted.
Hope it's not been too bad where you are, it's very windy here, fences down etc, thankfully not mine but your heart goes out to people as often wind damage isn't covered by insurance in gardens.
Off to eat sixty (at least) choc eclairs before bed now!:rotfl:vintage43:A

I have to refund two people who did not like the items they bought from me before xmas, £80.00 in total, what a bummer! I did put no refunds on the site but feel awful not giving them and this is the first time it's happened, but I'd already spent the pennies and will now have to dip into my car piggybank, already and it's only 6th Jan:mad::eek:
I have found a table sale taking place though on 15th Jan so will hopefully make some of the money back on that. off to see my little sis this weekend, a long drive but worth it for the nephew cuddles:D
Going to try not to let any more money slip through my fingers today and put in my work expenses which although it's only about £7 will make me feel better!
Have a successful day!:money:vintage43:A

I sorted out all the old dvd's and books yesterday for the table sale next week, we don't seem to watch as many dvd's now that the kids are getting older and I can wait to see them on sky or borrow off friends so the giant clear out threw up 156 dvd's! I was thinking of selling them at £1.25 each, had a look on music Magpie and they offered much less but any that don't sell after the third attempt can go to them, also tipped out the two older boys wardrobes and got 5 pairs of unworn Jeans, 7 tops some swimming trunks all unworn and a pair of jeans which can go back to next as they are too small and still have all the labels on, just got to tip out son#3 wardrobe today then the plan is
- Monday - go through all vintage crockery, any thats not needed can be sold
- Tuesday - wash and bundle up all old quilt sets, tie together with ribbon and a vintage luggage label
- Wednesday - Sort out all the throws that we no longer use, have some lovely old french style ones, bundle them up with Ribbon and vintage luggage lables
- Thursday - make some pictures to sell
- Friday - go through the cuboard in son#2 room, it's full of unused guitar cases etc, price up
- Saturday - make sure everything is priced and that they are all displayed nicely in wicker storage baskets and load the car up
That seems like a plan, just got to motivate myself into doing it all now:rotfl:
Using up the last of the xmas turkey and sprouts for lunch today, obviously not going to have just turkey and sprouts, it's windy enough here - yesterday actually managed to dry some clothes outside on the line, madness - in Januaryvintage43:A

3 big boxes of Dvds priced and boxed, two boxes of boys clothes priced up, made two pictures, dug out some old beanie hats no longer being worn. Priced up all books and boxed them up! Lunch in the oven, made a cheese sauce from the tail ends of Brie, Stilton and some mature cheddar which is now baking on the half a cauli I froze on Xmas day, waste not want not, infact everything that we are eating today is the just about to go off stuff left over from xmas lunch and frozen turkey breast that was left. I have had a go at making some garlic oil, out of cheap veggie oil and on the turn garlic, it is now being tested for the first time over roasties, smells lush though. Washing out to dry on the line again, feel quite productive today:jvintage43:A

I have joined the tesco mispriced thread - so glad I did, I got 16 packs of Andrex on the go for 1p each, 16 packs of spicy nuts again 1p each, some dog poo bags which are normally 1.50 for 37p and some dog toys for 9p and one reduced from £6 to £1.50, but because it said £1.50 on the label but scanned at £6.00 they gave me one free so 2 dog toys for £1.50
HAPPY DAYS!:money::j:Tvintage43:A

Just noticed your sig re Reki level 1, can you get it cheaper, I did mine through a local school that has a business centre that hires out the hall, and did over 4 weeks, don't know if that be any cheaper. I'm going back 3 yrs, and I paid about £30. Its still being done now, and is only about £40. It was an amazing course, and a brilliant skill to have, I use to do the Reki healing on my dog. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
