I've had my some new patio doors fitted this week...and I'm really pleased with them. In fact can't stop looking at them every time I go in the room... does anyone else do that with new things?

Can't remember the last time I had anything new which I could look at :rotfl: My DD1 (7) always sleeps with new things by her bed though, that is really cute. If she gets a new pair of shoes they will be there next to her bed.

Hello Bookworm! Sounds like your doing great, do love a good money shuffle! Doors sounds good, even when budgeted it is sometimes sad to see large amounts of money be spent!

Good morning :) Happy 1st of November everyone - can't believe where the time has gone this year  It's foggy in my corner of the world this morning but dry at least

MG, Sarahevie & Jodles - thanks so much for popping in. Hope you are all having lovely weekends

I'm trying to muster up the energy to get all my house jobs done today. Yesterday was written off to a lazy day as I felt a bit shabby from being out the night before :o Went out for a meal and a few drinks with some friends. The place had some special cocktails for Halloween and I found a liking for one called Goblins Blood :rotfl: It wasn't a cheap night but I enjoyed it so much, it was definitely worth it and I will cut back elsewhere for the rest of the month

Actually, I have to confess this has been a very spendy week :o. I have purchased tickets for the new Harry Potter play (Cursed Child)...which involved a hour long wait in an online queue on Friday. I couldn't get the date I originally hoped for but managed to get tickets for April 2017 :T It feels slightly strange booking something for that far away but at least I have something to look forward to. It was a large unplanned purchase though and I will have to take the money from savings which I'm a bit :( about. But then I figured, isn't that what savings are for? I will also get half the money back from my friend at a later stage too.

I do need to get a grip on my finances for the rest of the month as I can feel myself slipping back into spendy ways. It's so easy to do isn't it? :o

In slightly better news, I've gone ahead and updated my OP spreadsheet even though the figures won't actually update until tomorrow. Pleased to say another month has gone! :j I actaully read back my first diary post earlier and it says that I was aiming for 75% LTV at next remortgage and that 70% was only a distant possibility. I'm actually getting tantalisingly close to the 70% LTV point now and I should be on course to get to that by the time I get remortgage early next year. It will also mean that it will start with a 7 ;)

Survey payments are still ticking along. I received the £5 I was waiting on. Plus I have claimed a £10 CP voucher. I also received something edibile to product test so will get a payment for that once reviewed. Not helping my waistline though :rotfl:

Goodness that's probably enough rambling for now... :p

  • Evening BW. Ooh the play sounds fab. Try not to worry too much about having a spendy week, we all need a little treat every now and again or life would become very dull. :)

Fab news about nearing 70 LTV and your mortgage almost beginning with a 7! Exciting times! :T:T:T

Hope you've had a happy Sunday.

That's great - I think you have secured one of the hottest tickets in town.

And that's exactly what savings are for, to put money aside for a treat and it's something to look forward to as well

Thanks MG and Goldie :) I've stopped beating myself up now and am looking forwards ;)

Not much to report today. Work was...well work... and no money news.

I have chased up an errant present today. I ordered something a month ago and was expecting it to have arrived by now. Just as well I did chase as it turns out they have somehow 'lost the order' and so it's been put through as new from today. Just hoping it's not another month to wait....

    Have a lovely evening

    BW :)
  • Hi Bookworm! Just read through your diary and am very impressed with your steady OPs (and survey money)! :)

Harry Potter play sounds interesting, will need to check it out. Though I haven't actually watched all the films, just read the books, so may need to catch up on all the HP world/culture again.
  • Happy Sunday BW. Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

    Morning all,

I can't believe another week has passed. I seem to be living in a bit of a whirl at the moment and can't see any signs of it slowing down just yet. I've got quite a bit of travelling to do this week as well, which while I don't mind it, does seem to tire me out quickly.

My spendy time continues as car needed to be serviced/MOT. However, it passed ok and no extra work needed :T so that's a definite plus. I've had a few more c-pressies arrive this week so ticking along on that front too.

Surveys are also ticking along. My CP voucher arrived this week and I've had 2 PC surveys - just waiting for the payments to arrive.
£15 OP made from survey payments and some cashback claimed too.

The weather remains wet and windy so I am planning an easy-ish day of pottering at home and chilling before the madness of the week ahead

Hiddenshadow - thanks so much for stopping by and your very kind words.

MG - always lovely to see you.

    Have a super sunday

    BW :)

  • Well done on the op and fab news on the car not needing any work. I'm getting there with my c-pressies too, will be glad once I've finished and have them all wrapped. ;)

Hope you have a good week.
