Are they just making it up as they go along? Who cares what their own internal "policies" are, if they're not relevant to our t&c's?

That's exactly what they are doing.

It really is rather ridiculous. We touched on this point some months back about financial rules/regulation supposedly having to be written in plain english. Surely this is something some regulator should have to enforce. When so many things have 2 contradictory answers, which logically and expectedly leads to full blown confusion by a company's 'prisoners', one can only assume it is a plan by the said business. With so many lawyers and so much money spent on creating a business such as this one, it is delusional to assume that these 'ambiguities' are not a plan by that said business.

Thank you to Fermi for posting the links and WELL DONE to gustavep for winning that battle!!

I am in exactly the same position - Eru-idiots have just replied to my complaint re the DAF in the same way and say it is their final response on the matter so now I will take it, once again, to the ombudsman and my MP

Would I be able to poach some of the wording on your letter? You put it so much better than I could!

    Many thanks

Yeah, feel free, that's what they're there for.

I've spoken to the Ombudsman today to check they had received my complaint. They confirmed it was received but hasn't been allocated to anyone yet, so it looks like Erudio have accepted my deferment off their own bat.

Still no news on the other loan, or my CCA request, received by Erudio on 13 Jan.

Morning all! We wondered if you'd spotted the couple of extra questions that have been added to Erudio's FAQs?

    http://www.erudiostudentloans.co.uk/faqs/default.htm

    * When will the new Deferment Application Form be ready?
    * What should I do if I want to use the new Deferment Application Form?

Do let us know what you think!

Does this mean they don't need our additional consent to report our loans to CRAs but will still be threatening to do so? Or have they abandoned this veiled attempt at extortion?

The new form will still feature a Direct Debit Mandate request but this will be optional rather than compulsory.

Admission that its not a legal requirement to have a DD in place. Or even give them a mandate at all.

    At last.

We knew it, but theyve finally come clean
Still rolling rolling rolling...... :) <
