Eh Tara - don't you talk nonsense!! You are very disciplined with food - in fact we all miss you on the half stone challenge!! It's just not the same without your regular updates!! :D

    xx

I know, sorry, I will be back for June, promise. I've been so very bad since returning from hols, just been eating lots of sweets and chocolate and I feel terrible. I can see and feel the extra fat I've put on in the last couple of weeks and it's really getting me down. I have to get back on track. I'll weigh in on the 1st and come back to the thread xoxoxo

p.s. how have you been getting on?

  • Lokolo - very nice!! Well done!! All that frugality looks set to pay off! And I'm sure the Domino's won't hurt too much!

Dazcouz - Well done to you too - must be a good feeling to be inching towards your target!

Tara - Yeah I'm not doing too badly! I'm the reverse of you - seem to be a lot better at the weight loss than I am with the money! It's always hard getting your head back into when you've been away - but don't beat yourself up too much, you never had much to lose in the first place, so it never will come off too quickly!

Pay day for me today, but after the month I've had - I'm almost scared to go check my finances!

Got to shell out something between £500 and £700 next month, which is going to have to come out of the savings and they'll take a big hit in June. Not sure yet quite how much but should find out later today when it's all confirmed. Either way, I'll be back below £12k again, which is frustrating but I guess that this is why I have savings really!

    * Savings Update - May 2009 *

I have been looking forward to post this months report all along! :D:D:D But funnily enough the numbers dont seem to add up???:mad:
(Oh I Bought a Nintendo DS and Accessories costing me £150)
The main reason why I have been waiting to post this month is because I have saved a record £2,700 - The biggest contributer to this fact is Betfair which I managed to make £2,500 from a £50 free bet lol

Negative factors - Works cutting out overtime by bringing in new members of staff :mad: - Michael Jackson changed concert date from the 8th to the 13th of July which results me losing out on £130 to re-arrange travel and accommodation, Nintendo DS £150. So what else have I managed to spend £320 on this month??? Probably Games of Pool/Booze lol.

The Percentage Has Been Updated - I Have Reached Gold. :D:D
Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE

Good month for me too. Hit my monthly savings target for the first time :jfilled up my ISA (or at least I will have once I do the transfer) :j. Next thing is to find time to open a regular saver as it seems daft to not take advantage of the rates. I've been looking at cars too. Don't need a new one but...:p Anyway must remember my savings currently have a purpose!

Hi all, I haven't posted here for a while, been a bit busy. We've had an offer accepted on a house and waiting for all the legal stuff to go through...

I'm happy at the moment as I have surpassed my £100k goal :D I'm putting £100k into the house, which almost wipes my savings out, but am still aiming to save £800/month after we've got the place (will probably offset it against the mortgage). Will be a bit gutting starting from scratch again but will be happier once I've made my first £5k/£10k again as then I have a buffer should I lose my job etc...

    Hope everyone's OK

Well done Suzey on reaching your target. I have a similar target so it's very motivating to see you reach your one. Good luck with house hunting!
