A company pays for Christmas functions for employee and partner to a set total amount per couple.

    There is no law that explicitly protects married couples.

    What is reasonable is that you both get to attend a party. I would not think it unreasonable if they say they are only paying once. At the end of the day, they can stipulate whatever rules they like, 2 parties, 1 party, 0 parties.
  • Thought the Equality Act 2010 covered it.
