  • I've already done a lot of my Christmas shopping NannyG - I'm hoping that there will be lots of spare cash that I don't need when I actually do open that tin...

    Good Afternoon,

My new total is £672.00, I'm so excited to start Christmas shopping. Knowing that for the first time in my adult life, it won't be going on my credit card :j

This makes buying presents more interesting as you are not worrying about the cost and how high the bill will be in January, Its definitely made me look at better presents that are a little more expensive because I know I have a budget cost, and not going to experience that christmas credit card dread.

  • I've transferred Octobers money over, bringing my total to £336. Just got a few birthdays to get out the way, then I can start concentrating on Christmas.

Hi everyone, still putting my £1 a day in my tin and up to date with it, but not sure of total. Do you know I don't know whether I can open my tin on Dec 1st, it seems a shame to spend it on Xmas after its taken me all year to save it!!!! Sounds daft I know and I will need extra money for Xmas but it's my hard saved money, does anyone else feel like this? I think I may try to buy/make some presents so I only just spend the minimum.
    Nannyg

I know the feeling Nannygladys, some of us have already started buying Christmas presents so don't need the money for Christmas.

I'm thinking of putting some of mine into a savings account as a rainy day fund.

    Well Ellie,

I have given in to my inner devil and ordered my christmas presents from Amazon, I was pushed into this for a few reasons.

1- I got an email saying something in my wish list was running low and only 2 were in stock
2- I am on sick leave at the moment after an operation so I would be at home to receive the deliveries,
3- Some of the orders will need to be with the recipients by the start of advent, so I didn't want to risk waiting till November to order.

So I have only £41.50 left in my christmas pot...

I would have put this onto my credit card in previous years and probably overspent so having I total to work towards has definitely helped me this year.

Thanks for all your help in running this challenge, I shall remain and read posts though so Im not leaving you all
