Asda Poole/Travelodge PCN

My husband recieved a PCN from entering and leaving the travelodge carpark next to the asda car park. We thought we were parked in Asda and were not aware that there was seperate parking.
We shopped in Asda and have the receipt.
I have spoken to Asda and Travelodge and they say there is nothing they can do.
I am not sure how to appeal as we dont know exactly what we did wrong.
Thank you

Follow the advice in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum on how and when to appeal

Have you carefully read the NEWBIES thread, that is stage 1

Your first job is to take pictures to show that nobody could tell whose car park belongs to who.
Then find out who the landowner is

I have read the newbies thread. The carpark is in Poole in Dorset and we live in Nottingham so i have no chance of taking any pictures unless anyone else has shared something similar online.
On the appeal form it asks for personal details. I was not the driver or owner of the vehicle so can i appeal on behalf of my husband. But i wasnt sure if you should admit to being the driver

    OK, understand.

However, you can use google street view which is pretty much up to date and from your computer you can drive around virtually and capture pictures as you go

    TRY THIS
    https://www.instantstreetview.com/

I typed in Asda Poole and can see the whole of the car park which I would say
    lacks signs

NEVER EVER SAY WHO WAS DRIVING

Google isnt up to date, its still showing the travelodge being built and that been a couple of years. The instant street view has metal barriers showing too implying work being done.
Asda were not helpful and implied that it was perfectly clear that there are seperate car parks. They are a difficult company to contact.

Now that is good news, Smart are not so smart

So Travelodge use Smart and Asda are probably using Parking Eye
Asda actually sacked Smart last year

Just check with Asda who is their parking company.

This is ANPR and probably Travelodge require you enter your
    reg number at reception

I think travelodge do take number plates when u check in, as we have done that when staying in other travelodges. But as we were not supposed to be in the travelodge car park then are we in the wrong. We just got confused where to park thinking it was all the same.

Mistakes happen and I think the key maybe is that you have
used Travelodge in the past so you are a valued customer

Contact the CEO and be honest with him that is was a genuine
mistake and ask him to get it cancelled
