Decorating quote

Quote as follows:

Paint Hall, stairs & landing
Undercoat & gloss all woodwork & door frame

Paint Bathroom ceiling (6x6ft)
Undercoat & gloss all woodwork & door frame

Strip & repaper one wall in back bedroom (9x9ft)
Plaster around window frame
Paint other 3 bedroom walls
Undercoat & gloss all woodwork & door frame

Strip lining paper & replaster 2 walls in main bedroom (13x9ft)
Paint 3 walls of main bedroom
Plaster around window frame
Undercoat & gloss all woodwork & door frame

Paint front bedroom (9x6ft)
Plaster around window frame
Undercoat & gloss all woodwork & door frame

£3800 for 2 weeks' work.

Seems expensive but conscious it is a lot of work.

Thoughts welcome please!

    How much! Where are you as it might alter it.

    If you've got the time painting and decorating is something you can tackle yourself tbh

    I would say the second one is on the cheap side for a competent trades man so I hope you have done due diligence and not just gone on the cheapest price. Check his history.

    My husband has been a painter and decorator for some 40 years and is shocked at the low cost estimate. I would certainly look into his credentials.
    As far as the upper estimate goes it is high but not extreme for a 1st class proffesional.
    In saying all this, it is far far better to get word of mouth recommended trades in everything related to working on properties from people around you as long as it is not a relative of a friend that could be another pitfall.

    My husband never had to advertise and was never ever out of work
    and he wasn't the cheapest.
