Alice..sorry it's hard at the mo. You do so well and you're certainly not fake. Just trying to protect family from the harsh truth. Many more than you think either have or have had money troubles..honestly it's so much prevalent than you think.

You're doing so well. Please please don't beat yourself up

Have a mince pie and a glass of wine from me!

Thanks brizzle, could definitely do with the wine tonight. Have just been to the school christmas fair!!

Spent about £10  but did win a tin of button mushrooms on the tombola...;):rotfl:

Yesterday had to get petrol, cash (to pay the usual) and called into sburys spent £23.

We have OHs christmas 'do' tomorrow night, I don't mind this one as it raises money for a local charity....although still got to find something to wear.:( We have £25 to take.

Also have noticed 'the other car' has development a leak, not sure if its oil. OH will check tomorrow and fingers crossed nothing serious.

    xx

P.S. Pegged the washing out today.:)

  • We had a great night last night, the company was lovely, venue was reasonably priced......and they/we raised lots of money for a local charity.:)

We did have to pay for a babysitter last night plus we went to sburys and got some snacks as a treat so it was a bit of a costly night out, but still worth it.

Yesterday I managed to get 2 loads pegged out so I will get the ironing done today, need a meal plan for this week too. OH needs to look at 'the other car'....when he gets up!! ;) We're having a chicken dinner and then just chill out.

I've done the meter readings this morning, we are £63 in credit.

Hope everybody has a great day. xx

Glad you had a nice night out - sometimes it is worth spending to have a good time.

You always make me :rotfl: when you post about your washing but I have to say how much you have encouraged me to keep hanging mine out.
At the moment I am pegging out and then every 3 hours bringing a load in to air and then pegging another lot out and the cycle continues.

I tried it in the week when I work but DH forgets and then by the time I get in it is too damp to air.

Yesterday and today have been windy so the washing is drying quite quickly.

Do you know what the starting balance was?

Seems a bit odd that they don't have your payments but this might just be a glitch because if they had not had payments for 18mths you would have had a default a lot earlier.

  • We had another letter today about the tax credit overpayment. Apparently the overpayment was from us earning more money than we had advised at the beginning of the tax year 2012. Nothing to do with DS1 at college. Not quite sure how this happened but....... Have arranged to pay the £207 over 5 months starting 1st January.:(

    One step forwards......two back.

Thanks brizzle.......I blooming hope so! :o:)

Can't believe its been nearly a week since I posted...that's not like me!! It's been a really hectic week, kids parties and carol services etc etc, the meal plan went out the window and the budget. An extra £5 here and there too and to top it all I've got a horrible cold.:(

At times I've felt really stressed, feeling all over whelmed by it all, thinking that although we've got some lovely presents to give (at very reasonable prices) people won't appreciate them and just think we are tight. Then on the other hand took DS3 to a party and had such a good laugh with some of the parents came away feeling on top of the world..........what an emotional rollercoaster.

I'm going to have a chill out day today (yes another one :rotfl:) and hopefully this cold is coming to an end. Will do the usual bit of ironing (pegged out yesterday :D) and I'm going to sort through the paperwork that has been building up.

I also need to update spending diary. eek! This week is a bit quieter, thankfully.

Need to just check my present list, still got a few to get....perhaps I'll get some bargains.

    xx
