    Hi Watty, your cut flower comment resonated :)

    Given the delightful July weather, I've spent time sorting out old gardening and cooking magazines thta used to have on subscription. I've taken out the things I'm interested in and put the others to drop off at the Drs surgery. I guess subscription was cheaper but I so didn't need to spend that money.

    I just pick them and leave them on the windowsill for a day or so at most - and then pop them in the bags. Lavender is very forgiving of not doing things 'properly', I've found :D

    £2 spent on some dahlias for the house. I love cut flowers and it seems an MSE way to get them to buy them from a local gardener who sells in a bucket by the gate. How times change. At the start of the diary I would think nothing of spending £10 on flowers in the supermarket - today I found myself thinking one bunch or two? I went for 2 but I actually thought about it first!


    I love cut flowers too - we've just started buying them again. Sadly no garden gate bargains, but I find £4-5 every 2 weeks at A!di seems to be ok :)



    Great news that Handsome is doing so well - and loving Mr Watty's shopping - sounds very yummy!:D

    I used to subscribe to various family history magazines. I thought I was money saving with the subscription, but when I thought about it a bit more, I leafed though the magazine for about 15 minutes, then put them to one side and never looked at then again:eek:

    What a waste!

    Needless to say, I stopped my subs, and now get everything I need from the web.

    I do like flowers around the house - I don't often think to buy any, but they are a nice way to add colour

    Am so going to get there and then start working on true financial independence.


    As part of this currently reviewing work too. I run my own company. It isn't that I want to give up so much as I don't want to work so hard.


    I downloaded the sample of 4 hour work week on my kindle - not sure if I'm willing to upfront £9 + for the book. (I really need to get back to using the library). Anyway the sample made me think.


    I could probably work a lot 'smarter'. I haven't changed the way my business operates in the last few years but technology has really moved on a lot and maybe I could embrace that in order to save me having to sit at a desk so much.
