My hobbys satellite tv and i fit my own systems, now when i first had my system i paid a so called engineer to come out and fit it and i paid 200 pound for this.
Ive learnt to fit them myself now and ive done loads for people at 50 pound a go, i dont think 50 pound for a couple of hours works bad.
if you get and want 40 pound a hour then good luck to you.
So it is ok for you to get £25 per hour but it is not ok for somebody running a business ?.
As for fitting satellite TV any dummy can do that.X British Gas engineer and X BG sales adviser.

.
so out of that £50 you can deduct say £6 for fuel, then you've got the tax, insurance , maintenance of van , tools ,plus general running costs of any business public liability insurance (you have got that haven't you ?, accountants fees ,bank charges , advertising costs , and then you will have to pay tax and national insurance on top of that , (you are declaring earnings from your new found skill , aren't you ? ) i would have thought by the time you've paid for all that , you're working at a loss :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

most people have to pay road tax, fuel and insurance when they go to and from work, they also have to maintain their car.
why dont we ask the question. whould you pay a plumber 40 pound a hour?
And do you think 40 pound per hour is a fair and good rate for a plumber?
i think not, but thats my opinion and has i said before this is a moneysaving website.
Its up to me if i employ a tradesman whos willing to take 100 pound a day, im not bothered whether they pay tax, as long as they can do a good job.

Its funny how people compalin about certain trades that charge what they think its over the top money per hour, but nothing is mentioned about Garages to charge anything between £40-£50 per hour to fix your vehicle, that seems to be accepted as the norm.0

your links are about 5 years out of date ,
yes most people do have to run a car to go to work , but i would imagine most tradesmen have a van and a car to run .most people once at work do not have to go and get materials , do quotes etc .
but as i stated in earlier post , people who are not employed by a company do not have the companies overheads and running costs deducted from their salary , they get paid holidays , sick pay , pension schemes etc and other benifits that comes from being employed .they do not have to pay for any certificates , ie gas safe , which i think adds up to several £1000 which has to be renewed at regular intervals , all this will come out of the £40 per hour ,
i notice you haven't answered the question about paying tax on your new found skills0 -

You are correct this is a money saving website, its not here to promote people that are not paying tax and breaking the law.X British Gas engineer and X BG sales adviser.
