Supermarket White Rum

Anyone recommend a good supermarket White Rum?

Or just pay the extra for the Bacardi Superior?

I've never tried supermarket white rum but Aldi's gin is absolutely fine so I wouldn't be put off trying own brand.

My DH particularly enjoys Jack Daniels and Jamiesons so I just wait until offers come around and buy a couple of each.

I suppose it depends on whether you buy it regularly or it's a big treat.

If one bottle is going to last ages and you really like Bacardi then I'd buy it. If you buy it every week or so then there may be big savings to be had over time.

I'd add that it also depends what you're going to drink it with.

If you're putting cheap coke in, will it really matter how good the rum is?

I have the occasional gin at home.
I drink good quality gin - Tanqueray, Tanqueray 10, Opihr, Adnams Copperhouse etc - and I only buy Fever-tree tonic (which is damn expensive compared to Mr T's own brand but definitely worth it for the taste).

Thing is that taste is subjective. Tanqueray might be perceived as good quality, but I don't personally like it and much prefer Hendricks (though with lemon or lime, not the cucumber you are supposed to drink it with) Thus I like the Lidl Hortus gin as it's very close to Hendricks, but you likely wouldn't if you like Tanqueray.
