Hey,

This is my timeline diary, I am going to keep this up to date with my debt, savings & all that jazz until I am a debt free, home-owning responsible adult :p

I am setting myself this timeline because I realise now that it will take me this long to sort out my life financially.

My main problems are frivolous spending on anything really, spending on credit cards just because I have them & also holidays!

So here goesssssssssssss :T

I like your plan of action and also the fact that you are allowing and budgeting for holidays as well. Holidays is my sore point as I really want to be debt free but I also want to go away with my family and make memories... It's so hard to find the right balance!

    Good luck x
    Nationwide CC 0% March 2025 - £3,850 now £3,700
    Sainburys CC 0% January 2025 - £6,450 now £6,150

    FD Loan 1 October 2030 - £16,000
    FD Loan 2 October 2030 -  £30,000

    Husbands CC 0% August 2024 - £6,000

    Car balloon payment February 2028 - £16,412

    Mortgage - £194,500
  • Thanks jdjd83, I love a plan!

DFB 35 if I don't allow for my holidays or breaks then I will just give up, life is for living even when we are trying to become DF.

I know not everyone will agree but still I am glad some do.

  • Having a good day in work so far, the day is going by quickly.

Have my first WW WI on Saturday so I am excited to see how much I have lost!

My budget for Rome is pretty much sorted out, had a wee look at it again this morning. I already have my Euro's in aswell just borrowed money for that from my cruise fund so as it stands at the moment I owe that £480.00. I will pay this back at £120.00 a month between now & December so that will be fine.

I need to wait until 60 days out before I can book my Colosseum tours & I need to have that time scheduled before I book anything else. Will be able to get it all sorted out by 2nd week in October 2015.

  • Same here.

I am taking my Husband to Rome for his 40th birthday, he has no idea. It is December this year but I have been saving for it since October 2014, I just know that I need to plan way in advance & pay it up.

Our cruise in April 2016 we booked in December 2014!

    I do love a holiday ;-)

Holidays are good, we tend to book lots of little breaks over the year, it keeps us motivzted and allows us to spend quality time together as my hubby works funny shifts. Rome sounds amazing the hubby really wants to go to Italy.

  • It will be, I am so looking forward to it.

We usually pick all the tours together & talk loads about our holidays so I have nearly slipped up a few times!

I really need to keep this a secret he will be so shocked when I tell him.

Where are you going next then, anything planned as yet?

  • Thought I would give a little update on the 2015 goals so far.

    1. Pay off 2016 cruise - Still saving each month for this, will be paying this in full in December 2015. I lent a friend £1500.00 as her partner was out of work for a few weeks. She has paid me back £150.00 so far, this is out of my cruise fund so I am not really missing this money right now anyway.

    2. Pay off 2015 Rome trip - I have most of this money in the bank, just waiting until I can book some of our tours which should be in October 2015. This seems like ages away :rotfl:

    3. Keep chipping away at the CC debt's - Have really been paying just above the minimum & it will stay like this until May 2016 :undecided

    4. Stop spending on unnecessary stuff - I have actually been a bit better at this & for the first time in ages I actually took stuff back to the shop for a refund as I didn't really need it

    5. Stop spending on the CC's - I will admit to having to buy a weekly shop on this recently & the OH's work trousers burst so we had to buy some of those too, hopefully nothing like this will come up again.

    6. Cancel 1 CC - I have PIF the CC that I want to cancel, just need to get around to writing the letter or calling them to cancel.

So it is going well so far.

I also lost weight this week, lets hope it can be more than a one week thing :rotfl: would love to have lost 3 stone by Christmas time but might be aiming a bit high with this.

Also found an amazing tour for when we are on our cruise in 2016, £90 for a 5 hour tour in Sao Paolo Brazil, will be booking that maybe in January 2016.
