I know, thanks for your encouraging words. I really wanted to live for one entire week without spending anything, as if we did not have the money, that was was the whole point of the exercise, to try and live as if DH was already retired and we were living (well) on a very low budget.

    Ah well...

could you try again to reassure yourself it is possible?

Failed my FF. DH lost the wallpaper stripper cable so I had to borrow one from a friend, mother meant I needed to out fuel in the car, filled her up for £50, then DSL came back from Spain feeling ill and I had to go shopping for him and spend £19 (at least I got plenty of YSs and used up the £5 voucher in Marks).

Rather annoyed as if it had been only up to me it would have worked, but it was because of my other family members that I fell at the last obstacle. Grrrrr.
You know that you shouldn't use that F***** word on here - :naughty:.....there's no such thing. You tried your best and would have succeeded but you were thwarted ! :D

Good morning, just popped on to update my siggy, and to report I am coming in UNDER BUDGET for the first time in a while. At the moment im about £21 under budget, and have APGs to spend at asda amounting to £7.80, so this should get me through till Friday which is my payday. If i still come in under budget on Friday all the left overs from January will be going in my "sealed pot". My freezers still looking healthy and my cupboards too but admit I need a tidy up in my food cupboard and a stock take. Good luck everyone with the rest of their challenge, hugs if you need them x

Just updated sig. Quick visit to MrT as they had an offer on noodles so picked up a couple of packs, unfortunately a box of creme eggs somehow fell into my basket! Also picked up some baked beans and bread so quite restrained really. Last shop of the month on Thursday, its been a very long month. A bit worried about February as quite a lot of January meals involved delving into the depths of the deep freeze.....

I'll be having NSDs today and tomorrow and also Friday & Saturday so total will be up to 21/31 (I think!). Really pleased so far.

Final shop for January on Thursday. Have started my shopping list and getting quite long already, although hoping I may be able to cross a few things off once I've checked the outside freezer - which I'm hoping to do after lunch.

Today is another NSD as everything in.
DH went to pick up the prescriptions from the doctors this morning whilst I got on with some much needed housework. We get our medication free - other half over 60 and I have a exemption card - thank goodness.
Going to find the Feb challenge in while and think what to aim for but am in Jan until the 31st.
    MARCH £62.38/250
