Mhagster - it must seem very surreal at the moment. I am loving your ingenuity

    For Monday

    1. Deadline for Special Project at school is fast approaching. Nearly halfway through. Need to speed up!

    2. Favourite TA back from being off sick.

    3. Whizzed into ASDA on the way home and got lots of woopsies including half price posh sausages.:j.......

    4. Sausage and mash and onion gravy for tea. Used my potato ricer to do the mash.

    5. Just had time to watch an hours TV before bed. (DD got a lift home from work, so we didn't need to go out again to collect her).

Thought that would be more difficult! Happy Tuesday! :)

    1. Back not too painful which was surprising as getting out of bed was so painful. It improved with stretches.

    2. Washing dried on the line. I thought we would have heavy rain when it became so dark about an hour before I left work. I disbursed the red sky. All the 3 Windows in the department I worked in look out into a brick wall. Very scenic.

    3. DS2 cooked spaghetti Bolognese for tea. It was very good. It will be his lunch for the rest of the week as well.

    4. I have clothes to wear as ironing now done. I had to iron before work so had something to wear which I don't like doing.

    5. While ironing watching tv with DH and watched a programme about river monsters and the presenter catching a sturgeon. I was surprised how interesting it was.

Hquickly before my internet runs out! Missing my limitless broadband!

A day of much heat and same again tomorrow 30o

    Work was fine.

Cleaners came....hmmmm! The house was bigger than they expected...well that's why I wanted it cleaned. Didn't get as far as my office with 14 windows! So that's tomorrow mornings job for me!

DD2 had a medical appointment , train there and back and no charge for return as within 2 hours .

Had a picnic in the garden with big 2 and big dog.

Went up to their accommodation and made tea. A teacher had kindly made a lasagne for us so had that with salad and peas , outside on picnic bench. A bit cooler by then. Also made some cupcakes because I could.

Just going to take dog a walk via cash line to get more money for tomorrow's cleaning job! All outside windows have to be sparking! Sigh!

Have a lovely day ...3 more sleeps!

    Monday pleasures,

Bit of a lie-in to 8am and Capt S brought me a cuppa in bed.

Morning with Lulu in the warm sunshine, my friends horse is lame and will need to be off all winter before possible retirement, she is a good rider with gentle hands so have offered for her to ride Lulu on occasions.

Three loads of washing done and dried.

Weird orange sky and almost dark by 6.30, took a torch for last dog walk.

Meat free monday so carrot and cashew burgers with roasted veg couscous, yum.

Blimey Mhags - it must all seem very odd.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Ophelia was - interesting - but the house survived.
    2. the orange sky, red sun and warm breeze was amazing in the morning. Told OH it felt like Africa - then found out about the Saharan sand, so I was right...
    3. Friend came for coffee
    4. Decided to stay - rather than risk the trains back, and then could ensure house was ok during the storm. Meant i could have an hour in the lovely bath, with my book.
    5. Watched liar and some of the George Michael programme. Poor George, I loved him so :(

On the (rather battered / splattered) train home. DD is meeting me at the station and we are going to buy furniture paint for her new room, and have lunch. Typically it is a beautiful day and I would have loved a walk...
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • 5 Storm, what storm. Seems everyone panicked and all we had was orange skies! I blame the people on the beach in Spain! Still Raffles did not get wet as he stayed indoors for the day. BoP also missed the one in 87 as well. Oh well! Did not have to use the buck of farce trace me app in case I got lost either! Anyway, for those who missed Red October yesterday, we actually collided with Mars and you slept through it!

4 Was in the gym last night with next years beach ready looks. Note the hair has not been lost and as muted by my barber, mine seems to grow very quickly. I explained this is what proper food does for you and none of them vanity products. The hair loss clinic are aware of my hair growth and …

3 Watched the speedway last night, was one sided!

2 Night I could have chicken roulette, but as I was watching the speedway, there was an advert for paying four times as much for your proper foods with some free, fiefdom food delivery service. They had a half price offer to deliver a pepper, onion and something else for £17! Normal price was £35 for three meals! And they claim no waste. No list of ingredients. Sorry darlings if you have no time to shop, you aint got no time to cook, please stay with the cheese on toast delivery service!

Well BoP can get three boxes of mushrooms, toms, peppers, onion, cucumber, more toms, strawbs, and berries! And best back, chicken! Not forgetting the fish as well A week of food for BoP and BoPsie at £45! Please take care not to be ripped off! Thinks me channel of tube you is being updated soon! Proper biscuits of dead fly at the mill today. Cakes of Jaffa are so last week!

As for Cheese on Toast, as in notes of BoP’s life passim, BoP was not going to pay £9.99.

Woken up several times last night by things being blown away so am in bed and will be listening to Tim Vine in a minute.

Pleasures for today (still only Tuesday!)

    1) HM bread and HM jam for breakfast.

    2) Hens well.

    3) Dropped bigger son off outside college then went to another bit of the same college to have my hair cut. I always used to go to carpet town college and it was £3 there. At this one, it is £8! The teachers were incredibly strict at the other college and they used to get the students to ask loads of questions, test your hair for porosity etc but they don't at this college. 15 students gathered round and the teacher cut my hair as they had "never done any this short before"! It's £2 on Mondays for men so I have alerted all male Frith relations.

    4) Came out of the hairdressing bit and saw a pupil I used to work with so had a chat with her.

    5) Posted an Ebay parcel.

    6) Popped into a charity shop and (drum roll) got a White Stuff lilac cotton top, a White Stuff dark green with white dots tunic and (drum roll with cymbals) a Boden cashmere cardigan brand new with the tags still on!

    7) Went to National Trust place for my lunch - mushroom stew then a piece of pumpkin pie.

    8) Off to Homebase for paint for the not so new now plaster. Goose Down is the colour.

    9) Bought stuff I can only get at Sainsburys (Ecover, their basics hot chocolate that we really like and - bizarrely - mango chutney). Then went to Lidl for everything else.

    10) Met my friend for our customary Tuesday cup of tea.

    11) Popped to Homesense after and, in amongst the Christmas decorations, was a metallic piano accordion bauble. So my mum can have that nearer Christmas, as she plays one.

    12) Got home and my brother had left a bag of chestnuts in the porch for us.

    13) Smaller son asked for more maths revision questions (!) He has a test tomorrow and would like to move up a set.

    14) Watched Celebrity Hunted with sons and ate the (roasted) chestnuts.

    15) Was told about a forthcoming archaeology thing and thought I would be nice and post it on the forum for the archaeology group I go to. Cue an immediate stupid response from a patronising little man so it was a pleasure to delete it with a flourish!

Mhags- hugs to you and your family. It must feel strange at the moment.

    1. DH had brought some chestnuts home. He had picked them from a customers garden with the elderly customers help. The chestnuts are cooked and out in the freezer to have with sprouts. Will need more as we eat loads of them.

    2. Read my book while waiting for the bus to go to work. A driver let me cross the road as the road was very busy.. It very rarely happens.

    3. Work ok. Helped someone with new computer system. All thanks to help i have received from a colleague.

    4. A lift home from work.

    5. DS2 cooked for himself so DH and I had salmon. Very tasty. DS2 doesn't like fish.

    6. Enjoyed the day.
  • 1) I've cooked some foraged chestnuts this morning and I'm going to put them with some savoy cabbage and crispy bacon in a crème fraiche dressing for supper tonight topped with some black pudding and a poached egg, Mmmmmmm yum!

    2) DD1's surplus king size bed that we brought back has finally been collected by the second freecycler we offered it to, the first one let us down twice and I now don't have a bed frame and mattress propped up on the wall in the lounge.

    3) Stood in the rain yesterday afternoon and processed some apples for an elderly friend who wanted them for juice, she's lovely and does so much for other folks it's always nice to do something for her!

    4) Sorted out another big box of surplus belongings that we shall take to the local Marie Curie shop this morning.

    5) Picture from DD2 last night of the Zebra child having his bath in a large garden bucket (the ones with two handles) with such a gleeful grin on his little face as they are having a new bathroom put in this week. Little Oreo wasn't having any of it though and resisted his immersion in the bucket very loudly apparently! Soooooo cute!

Now you don't need BoP to say Proper Food! Chicken Roulette tonight!

PM2DD We are on a rush to get into the play-offs. Had to listen on CheltScum radio last night, so BoPsie said I had a blue word to say. Unfortunately I am unable to repeat these phrases inn the parish! #UTM

5 Removed some evil from outside the emporium last eve. Now here is something. You do not see pornography inn the emporium being sold? You do not see things on Bondage being sold? Then ask yourself why they sell tack for evil. Do as BoP, take a trolley, and a basket. Fill trolley up with tack, and hide or block the evil aisle with it. Then use your basket as normal. If we all did this, then we can block the tack!

4 The gym was a bit ruff last evening. Mind you BoPsie is inn to it as well. Ran for miles on the conveyor belt and got nowhere! Beach ready body has a bit on the side for Christmas, so will have to loosen up on my treader. New glasses so I can ride my treader are on order!

3 At mill just had another cv. I thinks these days we have qualification inflation! Having visited local college?, sorry accommodation business recently, they are building more space to play and sleep,. while fleecing the student and landing them in debt, for a piece of paper that I have just rejected! I’m sorry but a MSc at 24 is no good if you have only been at school? I have to wonder why some have stayed on so long. Is our education system got to a level today where we laud our principals in gin palaces built on the back of an endless stream of unsuitable students being forced into debt? Only misery of failure?

Just this week we heard of another life shortened because of the pressure these gin palace principals estates have bought!

2 Nite BoP is off to the Mall of Cause away Cribb, appearing around a quarter past the five O’clock!, to update his boots. You will have to be quick, as BoP normally is. More later.

Please Sir, I don’t need more education?
