Sounds heavenly. Good luck in your preparation for the good life!

Morning Squirrel, it's quite funny as Mr T has a friend who, many years ago, became a 'hobby' farmer. She did it because it made her switch off from work and focus on real stuff where what she did had a direct visible impact. Given what both Mr T and I do for a living, I completely get this now.

I've investigated some courses to go on, to give us a clue about whether we could do this. We have enough land for a small amount of livestock, to support us. May come to nothing but we are exploring all options.

I don't underestimate the effort and time involved, nor the non stop commitment required. Fortunately we have a good network of people who could help out when we are away. I'm also investigating what local and European funding there is for start ups here. Being able to employ people is seen very positively by the local councils and much is done to help whereas years ago that was definitely not the case.

Hope all is well with you and you've recovered from your fall.

    Best wishes, Tilly x

Morning, I'll be back in the UK tomorrow night and I'm going to enjoy my last day. Off out for dinner this evening and I'm sure political debate and argument will be on the agenda. I feel very blessed to have such good friends here.

YG survey in the bag. Had a result with an order from G@P for DS. They messed up an on line order and I rang the U.S. to complain. Order processed with the 30% off each item, including sale items, plus an extra 15% off everything. DS has had jeans for £17 ish and sweaters for £15 ish. Plus I have two pairs of his jeans to sell :T

Mr T is not going away this week and DS is. Mr T and I will have a couple of evenings to catch up and work through some of the figures I've put together. There are so many scenarios going through my mind and I've had fun figuring out how to make them viable. I know, sad woman that I am.

GG, remind me if it all goes wrong that I can always sell and go back to being MF :T.

Missing in action as I'm having a few days away :)

Extremely social few days and I've caught up with tons of people and had a thoroughly lovely time. You know what I'm like for a rambling musing but I've realised something whilst here. We have always lived the lifestyle here, that we live now in the UK. Good quality food is cheap and plentiful in the local markets and each small village has a daily market. Bread, in the main, is made locally, again good quality and sensible prices. Veg can be grown all through the year (I just need to make sure I know when to start)

I've eaten out a number of times, without exception I have had three course meals, with excellent fish or pork for slightly less than £8. One evening I had dinner at a friend's house - a platter of roasted veg in spices with a light sauce was served with cous cous - absolutely delicious. Total cost just over 2 euros to serve 3, including the dessert.

I can see our life will be good fun and I can't wait to grow veg throughout the year. Brilliant.

Walking round my local village, to an outsider it may look like a job for renovation man, but behind the rough facades are butchers, bread shops etc. It's a simple life and is far less commercial than the UK. Will I miss the build up to Valentines day, Easter, Christmas etc etc when we move - NO. We will celebrate the first crop broad beans arriving each year, the first pomegranate each year off our trees. Fresh orange juice and lemons - the list is endless.

Now that life is moving to the next chapter, I can start to plan for our life here. Some more fruit trees to be planted in order that we benefit once here. Loads to do and think about and I love my life here. MSE is business as usual here, without exception all our friends live an MSE life - it's a bit mad to have only realised this now but it also helps me to understand why this is home.

    I've Tilly tidied 99p

    Have a good day all.

    Tilly x x

I've ordered a tonne of wood which will be delivered and stacked for 120 euros.

This post made me think of a book I read and loved. The olive farm (Carol Drinkwater) I think! Well worth a read.

    Morning, flying home today :(

Lovely few days and my socialising can slow down - I say slow down but from Friday night until Sunday evening it's non stop. There seems to be an awful lot to fit in.

Life is changing at the moment and it is a good feeling.

For anyone thinking I'm going to start a farm  don't worry, I'm talking chickens but if you've read my diary for a while, you'll know I'd love some pigs. However, that may be a pipe dream. Investigations to do but I'm not ready to retire and will definitely need something to occupy my mind. It has however made me decide to sort out my blog and it will be based around our journey to this point and our future travels. You know me, it's definitely warts and all - we have come through some difficult challenges to get where we are now and I know will have more to come.

I am going to carve some time out to get it started.

Out of interest, if anyone who reads my MF diary keeps a small holding, I'd love to hear from them.
