Fleas in rented flat

    Thanks for the advise guys. I don't think the landlord would have known about the fleas but he knew about the cat living here before. He is on holiday at the moment so I have no way to contact him. If I buy the spray/bombs to clear the flat, I am within my rights to insist the cost be deducted from next months rent?

    Get the council in. I've lived in a flea ridden house before and no amount of spray from the shop worked. The council need to spray the house and it will cost about £100.

    Get the landlord to agree in writing first before making any deductions yourself.
  • Depending on where you live some councils will do this for free

    The links I provided above for the household sprays that I can guarantee will work cost less than £10 ;)
