Car features mis-sold

Hi everyone!
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my post, just looking for some advice!

I purchased a car last month (PCP Finance) from the motor dealership, one of the features it listed on the website was "Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay" which was one of the selling points of the car, as this was a desirable feature to me.

I collected the car, and went to set up the feature the next day, the car would not allow me to set it up for some reason, I rang the guy at the dealership who sold me the car and he said to bring it in one day that following week and see the service/repairs team. I was then to find out that my car doesn't actually have this feature at all.

I provided proof to them that the listing stated this feature, I was also sold this feature by their sales guy. They said that this should be possible to install as a "retrofit". I waited 2 weeks to speak to their manager after not getting an answer from him regarding the issue, and he basically said we can't do that, but as a gesture of good will we will sort you next time and offer you a percentage off your service.... not even a specific gesture!

I am of course not happy about this, as I pay a lot for the car and you expect to have what you purchased.

Ideally I don't want to return the car, its a great car otherwise (and they have said I cant) but i'm not sure thats true? I am not sure what route to go down with them as I am not happy?

Another query I have is that I paid with my credit card for the deposit (over £100) and wondered whether the section 75 route would be viable? Or whether I have any protection with regards to the PCP finance?

Many Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Wasn't the feature at at cost option?

Well basically for me to have the feature installed, the car needs to have the higher spec radio system. I contacted a specialist that deals with these sorts of things and they said it is possible but I would have to pay £3999 for an upgraded system and install of Apple CarPlay. (Which to me, is an extortionate price)

But the dealers option was for me to change my car to a newer car that has the feature installed but I would be expected to foot the costs (an extra £100pm!) and this is way out of my price range (This option, according to them, included a heavily discounted on the cost of the newer car)

At this stage, they are saying I cannot just return the car.

No sorry, it is a used car (2016 registration) so according to the sales rep and the website listing, was included.

I think you are going to struggle to get a solution that makes you happy. They won't take it back without a fight from what you've said. Even then you are out of time for not being as described.

Unless you fancy a potentially expensive fight it might be easiest to take their offer of a cheap (I would push for free) service. If you fancy a fight and want to reject it then I would involve the finance company.

Speak to the finance company, it is their car now and explain the situation to them they may have some advice for you

Sounds like a MK7 Golf, as I understand it is an at cost option from factory.

If it was an important feature to you then you should have tested it when you took it for a test drive. Mistakes are very common in car adverts and seem to be worse the newer the car is, they seem to rely too much on automatically generated adverts.
